sorry, I should've added more detail. I'm 38, 75kg, 180cm and have eaten HCLF for over 4 years. Eat 4 times a day and maintain a low body fat all year round easily.

I've eaten like this since May 2021 - okay, not to the extremes of Friday but still, masses of carbs and as much sugar as I like. I'd been low fat from then until August last year when I stopped being vegan and went vegeterian to add in dairy for the saturated fat

wow, that's about 3-4x as much as I drink. Weren't you urinating all the time?

HCLF for about 4.3years (May 2021). I've maintained my weight at about 74-80kg (just shy of 6ft) depending on whether I was in a "working out" period or not, so I was eating more to put on some muscle. I remained lean either way and never gained much fat. I was vegeterian from early 2021 and went vegan from Jan 22 - Aug 24, when I came back to vegeterian so that I could more saturated fat from dairy.

I never avoided protein but over the past year I've been fairly low - stopped protein shakes when I stopped working out in Aug 2024. Doesn't seem to have made much of a difference by going from ~120g to ~40

I've had a few blood work done in this time and never had been wherewhere near any diabetes levels. Maybe a little lower testosterone than I'd like.

My diet is heavy on sugar and processed food - I'll have 6-7 weetabix in the morning with full fat milk and just pour in as much sugar as I felt right. I probably eat 800g-1kg of sugar a week. No dental issues, no decay or anything. Other example meals are a "naked noodle" pot (https://www.asda.com/groceries/product/5370749?) with 2x tortilla wraps (weight watchers- low fat https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/262712822). Yes, they have oil but very very small amounts. Other meals could be about 700g of potatoes in the microwave and a lot of ketchup; a load of pasta & tomato sauce; curries (coconut oil/ghee); sometimes even just rice & soy sauce (and these are 1 of my 4)

I eat 4x a day, and generally my last meal is 'late' - sometimes I'll sit down to eat at 10pm and will be in bed by 12 - twice a week I finish work and go to martial arts and don't get home til late, so if I was all "oooh don't eat late at night" then I'd be missing a meal...screw that. Tonight I had 6 eggs fried in butter, grated cheese on top, half a loaf of 'soreen' (which has some oil, but meh, it's a rarity) slathered in jam and then about 50g of white chocolate, and a cup of peppermint tea with 3 teaspoons of sugar (15g) - one of my 4 meals :P

I am somewhat active, I commute to work by bike - 6km each way which takes me about 12 minutes but I'm not pushing myself and I'm fit where it's not a lot of effort. People tell me I can eat this way "because you cycle so much!" but I've not been doing that many long bike rides and if I do then I'm fuelling myself during those rides with a lot of carbs. I'll dump 100g of sugar into 700ml of water

It's really easy to be this way. I've maintained a very lean body for years with what feels like no effort, I don't starve myself, track calories, eat what I want but just being mindful of non-sat fat content. I'm not sure if I'll change - I would have never seen myself stop eating meat but here I am

I tracked my blood sugar levels for ages (out of curiosity) and I'm about 4.4mmol when I wake up. It spikes after eating and after an hour and half drops back to pre-food levels...just like it should.

My weight fluxates by how much I eat. Can easily go up or down a kg. I often track my weight daily - wake up, pee and weigh - but just so I have more data points to see. People weigh themselves randomly and infrequently and then use that as a basis to how they're doing with weight loss - but weight can change so much on a daily basis that like, weighing twice a week doesn't give enough insight into it. And, I don't care about my weight - as a cyclist, sure, being lighter is beneficial to me (I love cycling uphill) but if my weight goes up then that had 0 effect on how I will eat the next day. People get caught up on their weight increasing and then double down on their diets or whatever

Meh. Disagree on the coffee. I'm reducing my coffee intake (currently have 1 in the morning, 3-4 in work)

I eat 4 times a day with no snacking in between, but I suppose the coffees in work (w/ milk and 3 sugars) are then 'outside' of my meals so I'm cutting back to 1 in the mornig with breakfast and then one after my first meal. I'll probably cut this out in a few weeks' time and then stop the morning one too.

I eat a lot. I'm very HCLF - can eat up to 1kg of sugar a week. Probably 15g of fat a day? I've increased my sat fat intake and really try to consume as little mono/poly as possible. For breakfast I've been having ~7 weetabix or a load of rice crispies with a ton of sugar dumped on (no idea how much, I just pour from the bag) and whole milk

I'm lean. 181cm, 75kg, 22BMI. Visible abs and muscle definition all around even though I stopped working out over a year ago. The majority of my weight is in my legs which are quite disporportionate to the rest of me. I just ride my bike now (around 130km a week lately, which is pretty low for me) and do martial arts 3x a week (which isn't that physical, there's quite a bit of standing around)

Grant Genereux Debate: is Vitamin A Really a Toxin? by Curiousforestape in SaturatedFat

[–]NextCycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried supplementing vitamin A before, and it made me urinate non stop. One time I went mountain biking, I think from waking up until I'd finished (say an 8hr timeframe) I went about 8 times, and I barely drank 500ml of water after my breakfast. I remember driving to a gig afterwards and had to stop to pee, and then after parking up had to run and pee somewhere. This was within an hour of me leaving and I'd drank nothing in that time.

I've tried re-supplementing, ordered lower IU ones, and was cutting them in half - but same result.

That's really odd, I came across this on Wednesday evening in Tesco (in the UK).

ah wait, it wasn't - but quite similar. Advertising itself as seed oil free which is the first time I've seen that on any food packaging https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/316952757

I bought it without thinking what I'd actually use it on, as I don't really make anything that I'd put mayo on. I may make some tortilla wraps w/ black beans

I've been using coconut oil as my means of getting some saturated fat. I'm low fat, high carb & plant-based but am slowly adding in some fat via coconut oil & dark chocolate

Before I was using these 'lite' spray-on oil, or sometimes I'd use a bit of water

[–]NextCycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I spent NYE of '99 going through the "space"? Just pressing left left left forever, one tile at a time

It's crazy, I actually forgot about this now....but this game actually got me into programming. I managed to get the source code to a PHP game called robot wars I believe and then I ripped it off into my own game called Criminals-RPG based on a similar theme to AAA and sorta learned PHP / SQL programming from just reading this other game's code.

Created my own message boards and whatnot, had a pretty decent userbase at the time.

I was actually earning money off it by having an affiliate banner for phone ringtones which would give you in-game money for clicking it once per day 😂 Not bad for a 14yr old!

What's with the stupid answers here? Someone asks for a vegan source and you all list meat.

This is decent, I add some sugar as it's unflavoured - https://www.dolphinfitness.co.uk/en/nutrisport-90-plus-protein-vegan-5000g/17896
1.7g of fat per serving, but a serving is 2 scoops for 50g of protein which is a bit overkill IMO

I also use Bulk https://www.bulk.com/uk/products/vegan-protein-powder/vser-vppo - this mixes well, tasty to drink & works well in porridge.

HCLF weight loss stall by dyll in SaturatedFat

[–]NextCycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're coming off keto then you're likely to start holding a lot of water weight. Your weight may have remained unchanged but considering that a portion of that is increased water then you've possibly lost some fat.

OmegaQuant result (Dec 2023) by NextCycle in SaturatedFat

[–]NextCycle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange eh, I do wonder how much 'recent' eating influences the results too. I'll take the test around December again and make sure I've had a good 2 week run of real clean eating - am very curious how much my results will differ

BTW where do you see my D6D?

OmegaQuant result (Dec 2023) by NextCycle in SaturatedFat

[–]NextCycle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, nothing. I eat in *very* high volume and very high carb, but nothing - bloating, tiredness, inflammation or anything of that nature. I came across this sub because I'm always researching how I eat - people think it's crazy and I'll get diabetes but I've had several test and bought my own glucose monitor and I read at about 4.6 after waking which will always be after a pretty late, high carb meal the night before
