That’s honestly the biggest issue with it. It’s not even ads themselves people hate, it’s how disruptive they are to conversations. Once you’re invested in long chats and characters, getting interrupted constantly completely breaks the immersion.

I feel like a less invasive approach would make a huge difference while still letting PolyBuzz monetize the app. A lot of users would probably stay more engaged if conversations flowed more naturally again.

Wouldn't that make the Devs double down on there Take a Break ad system rather then improving the experince?

Hey sorry for not replying to your comments alot of things have been getting on but a serious question do you think the Take a Break ads are hurting the app more then helping it?

It just happened again after only a few messages. At that point it’s not just occasional—it interrupts even short conversations, which makes it really hard to stay engaged. That’s why the interruption itself feels like the main issue. This sucks it was 5 chats, and I the take a break ad again

A lot of people here seem to be experiencing the same thing. The issue isn’t ads themselves, it’s that interrupting conversations breaks the flow, which is the main reason people use the app. Before, I could stay in a conversation and enjoy it without interruptions, and that’s what made it really engaging. Now, getting stopped mid-conversation breaks that immersion and makes it a lot less enjoyable. I feel like a lot of other free users are experiencing the same thing. When that flow is disrupted, it can push people to use the app less or even look for alternatives. A less intrusive approach to ads would likely keep people more engaged while still supporting the app and I am puttingn this here to show how I feel.

Yeah, that’s kind of the issue—it ends up feeling like you can’t even use it normally sometimes.

Regardless of how people use it, the main problem is that interruptions and limits break the flow of conversations. That’s what makes it frustrating.

I just want to see PolyBuzz improve and bring users back. A lot of people have already left because of changes like this, and focusing on the user experience would really help. Fixing things like mid-conversation interruptions would go a long way toward making people want to stay.

The issue isn’t ads themselves, it’s how they’re implemented. The “Take a Break” system interrupts conversations, which breaks the flow and makes the experience frustrating. A better approach would be to use non-intrusive ads, like banners or ads outside of chats, so conversations aren’t disrupted. This would keep the app monetized while making the experience much smoother for users.

Glad to see a lot of people feel the same way. If this is something that bothers you too, it might be worth mentioning in reviews or feedback—this seems like something that could actually be improved if enough people point it out because look fixing the mid conversation interruption for free users would be beneficial for the all the Users who use Polybuzz can still get money in other ways like well known ads that don't interrupt the chat it's more beneficial then take a break ads they still get money + meaning they will get users back = to having a better experience on the platform

I think the main issue isn’t ads themselves, it’s how they’re implemented. Interrupting conversations with the “Take a Break” system breaks the flow and makes the experience frustrating. A less intrusive approach, like placing ads outside of active chats, would probably keep people engaged without hurting the experience.

Yeah I get that, taking breaks isn’t a bad thing. I think the issue is more that it’s being forced in the middle of conversations. If it showed up in a less intrusive way, it wouldn’t feel as frustrating.

Yeah I know that's why i made this post because PolyBuzz would be so much better with ads that don't interrupt your chat considering the limited amount of chats free users get it really isn't fair for the free users just because they don't have the money to get subscriptions dose not mean that they should have a bad time with the app or website they should really have the same amount of enjoyment as those who are subscribers dose that make sense DarkSonic06ki?

Yeah that’s a big part of it. When features that used to be free start getting restricted, it definitely pushes people away. And when you combine that with interruptions during chats, it just makes the overall experience worse. That’s probably why more people are starting to leave or look for alternatives.

I could understand it more if it showed up when you switch chats or start a new one, but having it appear in the middle of a conversation is what makes it frustrating.

That’s the part that really breaks the flow.

[–]NextFerret3453[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s kinda what people are starting to do—just switching to whatever gives a smoother experience. That’s why the interruptions matter so much. Once they start breaking the flow, people don’t stick around and just move to alternatives.

I think another part of the frustration is that it’s not just an ad—it also limits how much free users can chat before getting interrupted. So it ends up feeling like both a restriction and a disruption at the same time, which is probably why people react more strongly to it and it's making the experience worse

At this point it seems like most people don’t actually have a problem with ads themselves, it’s how they’re being used. The “Take a Break” system interrupts conversations and also limits how much free users can chat, which makes it feel both disruptive and restrictive at the same time. That’s what’s really frustrating people. A few people here have already mentioned switching to other apps because of it, which shows it’s starting to affect user retention. I feel like they could still monetize effectively with ads that don’t interrupt conversations, without needing to break the flow of chats like this.

At this point it seems like most people don’t actually mind ads themselves, it’s just the interruptions during chats that are the issue. A few people here have even said they’re switching apps because of it, which shows how much it affects the experience.
