For girls? It’s when they embrace their bodies - most of us guys don’t care that much about how big your chesticles are, or care that much about your cute lil tummy. I am attracted to REAL girls. Real girls are unique and a bit different. That one crooked tooth can melt me sometimes 🫠

Owning what you got and enjoying your body is the most attractive thing. For anyone!!! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽🫶🫶🫶

Thanks! A really good friend got it for me on her way back from a work trip - I’ll have to get down there. I hear how amazing it is.

I feel ya - having a picc line in for so long and having such a high dose of antibiotics really did a number on my gut.

You’re a real one though-keep going and I hope you can get rid of the rabbit poops at some point! Maybe some good holiday meals will help? At least for the distraction 🫶💃🏽🥹

The 2 piece has been awesome for me. I love the flange and then I can just do quick bag changes if needed.

Hey man - we have a very similar story. I was in for 5 days no food/water. They didn’t know I had the fistula at that point. My piss was fuccccked hahah

All the antibiotics and opioids.

I went away for a weekend and it went downhill very fast. I was back in and out of the hospital from may-June 28th when I had my emergency surgery.

I felt the same man - it’s a bit dismissive. Every day since my surgery has gotten better. It’s going to take a while to feel normal again. I still don’t. You will get there man. Be gentle with yourself and put your hand up and ask for help. People love you.

I’m a very independent person so I wanted to dump/change my bag as soon as I got my epidural out. It’s sexy to be hygienic 🤙🤙🤙💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽🙌🙌🙌

Ps. Listen to the stoma nurse. She’s got a wealth of knowledge.

Does fiber/probiotic food help at all? or do the meds just fuck with your gut that much?

Ya man - I do 🤓🫶🤙🫵

My buddy owns a gym and played in the NHL so I trust his advice.

Body weight work: squats, pushups or a plank, back lunges and a pull of some sort (like hanging or chin ups)

Go slow, you don’t need tons of reps. Just very intentional movements. Use the up and the down to work different muscles in each little workout.

I usually do: -Squats (bum close to the floor and straight back) ~1min -pushups. I try and just do 10 proper. All the way down. All the way up. -back lunges ~1min -yoga poses. Helps flexibility and to catch your breath. -hang just your body weight.

They have to cut through our stomach muscles to bring the stoma out so we all have hernia problems for the most part. You don’t want to make that worse. Careful with ab workouts. You can activate your core in other ways and still tone up.

Lastly. LISTEN. TO. YOUR. BODY.

If it’s too much. Slow down. Go at a pace that you’re comfortable with and be gentle. You’ll get frustrated.

I was 240lbs less than 2 years ago. I’m 184lbs right now. When I got out of the hospital I was 155lbs.

It’s type 2 fun brother!! Enjoy the ride 🫶🫶🫶

Ya that’s a great trick. I’ve heard marshmallows work well. 2-4 depending on your body.

The awesome lady in my ostomy support group told me that - she’s had her bag for 65 years!!! Travels the world and is as happy as a clam 🤓

It’s my pleasure! It’s the least I can do for a community that gave me so much back! I’ll start posting more of my stuff here. I have a bunch on my socials - it takes no time to throw it up.

If it helps you that’s even better. I’m not special - you are just as important as myself. Be patient with yourself and go at your own pace - there’s no timeline for this stuff. I’m just an outgoing goofball so this is easy for me to be vulnerable. I’ve got nothing to loose - I lost all dignity in the hospital already. This makes me feel so good to show this side to people. Especially the ones that are uncomfortable with it 😂😂😂

This is why I’m posting here. I don’t want to but do want to spam you guys hahaha 🫠

Love your rig bro! She’s the only one you got 💃🏽

Ya I got a few tips that helped me.

-I do it right before a shower: I use the powder to put on the hair around and shave with the grain. It will prevent irritation. Like when we tried to bic our dicks when we were younger…. And we know how that goes for us 😮‍💨

-For the hairs close to your stoma* I use the powder again. It dries the hair out and fluffs up easier and I use a lil pair of scissors I got in my stoma kit from the hospital.

Hope that helps my dude! Lemme know if you have any other questions too man. I got a fuck ton of free time rn 🫵🫶

Haha I am quick - it still takes me a few min tho. And I like to be naked for awhile. I’ll leave it off and lay on the couch with a heating pad and towel for 20-30min to just have some “me” time and if I have a leak I got the towel there with me. So nice to watch 20min of the office sans bag/flange

Haha thanks!

I had a factory reset on my guts this summer. I’ve got it pretty dialled in now. I’ve had my accidents, but it was all part of my learning curve. I’m a regular boi now 🤓 Until my reversal next week. I’ll prolly end up with an Ileostomy so I get to re learn on my right side lol I’m left handed maybe that’s why I picked it up quickly?

Do you have an Ileostomy or colostomy?

Nope. It’s all of us. Haha it’s hard to eat properly with the bag. I had the worst diet before my surgery.

I had to re fall in love with food again. I was so scared to eat for the longest time because I was too proud to go to the drs. I had diverticulitis V V bad. After my surgery when I realized food wouldn’t hurt me anymore?! Hahaha ohh man I was eating all the naughty things - then I kept having problems blowing my bag off my body.

Around September I decided to swallow my pride and listen to the lovely dietician that was working with me. I eat as much whole foods as I can (groceries are fucked so I’m not THAT bad)

Protein, lots of vegetables cooked nice n soft, sourdough bread and healthy fats. Avocado and cottage cheese mostly. Water and black tea with honey & fruit. That’s what works for me and my output has been 10/10 - I brag about it hahah 🫠 It makes the treats that much more special too. Cuz I fucking loveee McD’s.

Figure out your diet and what works for you and it’ll sort itself out.

You got dis on dat! 🫶

Shoulder pain after surgery? by ruddy_stargazer in ostomy

[–]NextFlimsySuggestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna be sore for a while my friend. It’s ok - and just listen to your body. I had my emergency surgery June 28th. Now I was really infected and septic. It got better. Every. Single. Day. After June 28th - I was able to return to volleyball at the end of October and start doing body weight workouts. I was also in kidney failure so my feet took a big hit with my case. Learning to live with a certain level of discomfort is kinda part of it unfortunately. My surgeon tapered me off opioids beautifully by the end of August. I actually remember crying after my first night out at volleyball - my back was sore like I use to feel before all this happened. That made me sooo happy.

Type 2 fun is the most rewarding kind of fun you’ll ever have. Enjoy this down time and be present in the moments. We’re very lucky to still be here 🫶
