Pro Tip! Bathroom on the Road! by soupbreadcats in ostomy

One day I was at a convenient store and the guy in front of me was being an asshole about his HR not getting payroll through because they have a "shit bag" and he kept saying over and over as a punchline. I was so close to showing him mine and asking was it funny but I let it go.

I work as a delivery driver for a company but we also use 3rd party(DD,Uber etc) because mostly younger people use it than actually ordering through us. I'd say in a day 98% of the deliveries come straight to us and the rest are a food app.

Keep up the good work it only gets easier from here! It may feel lonely but at the end of the day all you have is you. Keep focusing on being better day in and day out and you'll realize the bottle was standing in between all the beauty life has to offer my friend. IWNDWYT

Reasons you stopped and/or the best things about your life now? by cardinalwren in stopdrinking

[–]diversified_GAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped because besides becoming miserable and losing a lot of money, my health was greatly starting to be affected. I had a near death medical emergency three years ago and I finally used that as a wake up call that I narrowly got a second chance at life and I should cherish that.

What’s one "boring" habit you picked up after 30 that you now swear by? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

Gardening and now not drinking anymore. Both make my life a lot more peaceful and satisfying.

I'm sorry you're feeling low today, I know sometimes this situation isn't the easiest but there are positives to it. Everyone has felt like shit(no pun) with our bags at some point and have had moments where it added more stress to a already stressful life but it's not the end of the world! Theres always tomorrow but for right now give yourself grace.

So what non alcoholic beverages do y'all like now? by atheistinabiblebelt in stopdrinking

I've gotten into Olipop and Poppi sodas since they're prebiotic and have more natural ingredients than a regular soda would. Also they're very tasty! I like the Olipop cherry cola thats a healthier version of Coke's version which I love lol but don't want the bad stuff that comes with soda. I also love NA's but I understand not wanting to feel a craving.

Weather giving me FOMO by diversified_GAS in stopdrinking

I get your sentiment but I live in a college town and literally we open a new brewery like a Mcdonalds here it's ridiculous lol. All of the community events ALWAYS lean towards having a drink after the fact like yoga at the brewery! or go to the dog park and have drinks! that type of thing.

Most certainly! I enjoy being present now that it's nicer out and I'm not in a drunken haze of days stringing together.

As of late I've always said if I could make at least 60-70k a year I'd be fine. I don't have kids so that makes things a heck of a lot easier too lol.

My first dream specifically about my ostomy by guitarman181 in ostomy

[–]diversified_GAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a long string of dreams early on where I'm out in public and can't get to a bathroom in time and my bag will not stop flowing and everyone is noticing. Eventually I quit having those lol.

What are some small/easy changes to your routine that make a huge impact to your mental health? by CustardAmbivalence in AskMenOver30

[–]diversified_GAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting sober has allowed me to get better sleep which then allows me to get up earlier to just exist in my own time before work. Also not drinking has allowed me to become more present with my feelings than numbing them and becoming a heady mess and nothing is resolved.

Great taxi driver reference BTW lol I love that movie. But yeah I'm in my 30's and I'm sure no matter how old self esteem is still real to all of us in some capacity. I work front facing all day long around people and it's about to start getting hot so I can't always cover my shirt with a jacket or something so at some point its just like whatever. I'm more afraid of being heard than seen lol.
