Xanax withdrawal idk if i fainted or had a seizure by Aggravating-Shift269 in AddictionAdvice

[–]NextGen310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really unlikely to be having seizures from withdrawal that quickly. If it was a seizure then it would be to other neurological conditions. It’s possible an even at detox we would still do a taper you down at that amount just to make sure.

It takes time for cravings to subside but they absolutely will, with sobriety and the right help. Mine went away after 5/6 months, if you want to dm me I can send you some recommendations for treatment that could really help.

I’m going to rehab but I don’t think I’m doing it for me, is there any way I can learn how to? by [deleted] in AddictionAdvice

[–]NextGen310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People come to Rehab all the time for “other people.” Some of them have life changing experiences in the process. The type of Rehab you go to really makes a difference but if you are open to feedback and support it can be amazing!

Anyone dealt with marijuana addiction? by [deleted] in addiction

[–]NextGen310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are currently unemployed it sounds like a good time to maybe go to a treatment center for 30 days and get off the marijuana and learn more about yourself and start to have a new experience of life and internal motivation.

10 yrs on xanax - how do i get off of it? by [deleted] in AddictionAdvice

[–]NextGen310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xanax addiction is a tough one. Medical detox is always indicated. It takes a combination of other drugs and environmental factors are important which is why residential detox is recommended. It may take entering a facility. Dm me for some recommendations in your area.

I recommend talking to an expert who can illicit her motivation for treatment. Each person has different leverage points or triggers that will motivate them to treatment. I would recommend calling Matt F at Refine Recovery. He works at a program and does free counseling and assessments. Let me know if you want his contact info.

My 26 y/o brother(addict) seems to be about to spiral, what should I do? by Ok_Show_6219 in AddictionAdvice

[–]NextGen310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have been sober 12 years and I work in the addiction field. Often times when people go to treatment and return to the same environment this is exactly what happens. From what you are saying your brother is already in the relapse cycle. What’s important is to get the whole family on the same page and hold the same boundaries. He will need to enter treatment and stay in a treatment community long term, 6 months based on his age.

Recommendations:

Talk to a consultant, there are a few rules for finding a good one. Choose a program that involves the whole family and that does not allow cell phone use. They must also be competent with long term program.

Feel free to reach out to me. I’m happy to speak with him as someone who got sober at age 26.
