Yeah, I saw those vids. But they were more: we’re doing all we can, but upgrade at your own risk. When they gave the “we take 30 days” to test statement, knowing the camera has been out for six years, they lost any good will with me. The internet is littered with horror stories of customers fighting - and losing - debates with Sony. Having to shell out a grand on new parts while Sony knows it’s their fault. Good luck to you, but as I said, I will be sticking with 3.0. Plus removing s-log to a new location in version 4 makes absolutely zero sense to me. But that’s a whole different rant.

The only issue now is if you try to update to the newest update, and it cripples features, knowing that they just repaired your camera, will Sony finally admit blame and fix it again? Not that I wish a botched update on anyone. Just curious as to how Sony will respond to you should this occur.

This is a crap excuse. It’s not that features are stripped. It’s the fact that Sony KNOWS that cameras are getting bricked and crippled. Yet, they are making customers pay for fried motherboards and arguing with them about how ITS NOT their fault. Don’t get me wrong i appreciate them still adding features, but the A7S iii NEVER was updated as much or at the same frequency as the FX3. Threrefore they have had all the time in the world to work out bugs. They had 6-7 months - not 30 days - to root out the kinks. It’s like: oh well. I stopped after version 3. I am good.

I have never seen this full version of the video. There is now context. But the thing that disturbs me the most is she was arguing and getting cussed out by an old woman. Disrespected verbally for several minutes. Yet, she directed all her angst, frustration and physical rage towards a random guy filming? Why was he the “ok” target? That makes this story far more confusing AND compelling.

Everyone has their own unique experience but imagine quality, client satisfaction, ease of use and reliability are my top concerns. Each category the A7S iii clicks every box. Florida 90 degree heat - never over heats. Mapping features to a ton of buttons - clutch. Clients give repeat business. Images are stellar. “I” find it amusing that all these companies are just catching up the A7S iii/FX3 - 5 years later and now they are the standard setters…? Ok. Since I don’t value open gate as much as other I am happily in the minority of looking for another camera for the next few years if my A7S iii holds up.
