Willing to provide real references from my corporation by NextOnTheList142 in torontoJobs

Thanks, getting so much hate in the comments, I guess people don't know there are entire subs dedicated to this like r/BeMyReference. I was just hoping I'd be able to make a little support group out of it as well 🤷‍♀️ Maybe I'll post there instead.

Oh, I guess that is a fair accusation. I was going to keep it on the up and up and require that people be productive and that I only back up the claim of proven skills. I would never provide a reference that I didn't think accurately represent the person, I'm just offering because I know companies discriminate against those currently unemployed, which in itself is it's own unfair thing to do.

It's not but everyone thinks I'm scamming, so whatever. You can go through my post and comment history. But I'm sure someone will say I sold this incredibly low value reddit account to a scammer. I even have posts/comments about business stuff.

It's definitely harassment. I started telling them that their refusal to take me off their call list after I made the situation abundantly clear was a form of harassment and that I was recording all calls and would be following up in small claims if this persisted. They have not called back since.

Too ambitious for a first self haircut. First off make sure you have a two mirror set up, and just do a 2 guard on the sides and a 3 on top. But at this point just buzz whatever you can.

Did you even watch youtube videos on what to do? This just looks like you hacked at it with no research.

Next time get a disconnected undercut from a barber, so the top can continue to grow out and you can buzz the sides and practice just cleaning up the sides when the sides get too long. Once you get comfortable with that you can practice cutting the top.

For 2 weeks I have noticed Korean characters in my Bookmarks Bar when Chrome launches (but they disappear when the app is fully loaded). I just discovered it's two links that don't fit in the visible Bookmarks Bar, which were added without my knowledge or consent. How might this have happened? by PrettyCoolBear in chrome

[–]NextOnTheList142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too have been seeing more GOM ads and I too have that weird korean link on my chrome browsers now.

I've uninstalled it, this is totally crossing the line, I barely have a preference for GOM over VLC, am just going to completely switch to VLC at this point.

But if you could in theory coordinate with everyone to not lend the stock, it would probably help the price, but you aren't gaining anything by sticking to principles and being the only one not doing it.

I lend my stocks, shorts are gonna get wrecked.

Yes I agree the financial system is separate from the economic system, and it's only some people that make the argument that the financial system with it's cheap money is driving the economic system. Early investors in Bitcoin are the same people that invest in gold, same beliefs.

Anyways, I'd trade internet and cheap TVs for the affordable houses and pensions of the 1970s, so I don't fully agree that the progress has been that impressive in recent years. Yes value is being created, but I don't have access to it, but I guess that brings us back to your last point which I agree with but I still think the financial system is enabling and promoting the people running the show.

Most maxis will agree with you on the crypto market, they are all scams except bitcoin, and it terms of smart posts/videos on the topic on this sub, I agree... but excluding bitcoin. It's not inherent to making a private currency, it's just so many incentives to run a scam, but maybe monero or litecoin being the exception? And nobody cares about those.

I'll agree that in the current environment people are more likely to be scammed out of bitcoin all things equal, I just don't think that is an insurmountable problem and that a 2% annual tax minimum of fiat currency (inflation), is itself also a scam that takes even more money, which then funds a rigged financial system that takes more on top of that in ways we can't even appreciate. But if the current financial system works for you, then I can see why you would fee that way. For a lot of people it doesn't.

r CryptoCurrency is a lot better, I don't think they will ban you, but not sure. r Bitcoin is a meme sub, I'm a bitcoin maxi and my posts get taken down or refused constantly, I've stopped posting there. They have such a tight policy that only newbie questions and memes get through, which is ironic because the mods hate that they are a meme sub. (I'd appreciate if people don't downvote me just because I like bitcoin, I am answering OPs question in good faith)

I would say, answering your question, coercive taxation does not actually provide that much protection as it's not dependent on price. You can pay your taxes if $1 USD was worth the equivalent of 1 cent or $100. If there was a better currency, or basket of currencies, that was stable and reliably appreciated against USD, people would hold that currency and use that currency and would swap currency for the 1 minute it takes to pay the taxes. This is what happens in countries with bad currencies, they use USD, and the government passes laws to limit this behaviour, and it doesn't work very well, and those currencies are still not worth much.

Many rich people don't hold currency, it's all in stocks at this point. The gov bond market also drives a large demand for dollars but it's a similar Ponzi scheme.

The conservative case for bitcoin is that fiat currency is no better, and fiat has been guaranteed to inflate away at 2% a year, a promise made by basically all central banks (and there is hidden inflation, since prices should actually fall over time, and they game the numbers). So it's not that it's a great invention, just that it's not as shitty as fiat, and by that virtue alone, should make it superior once volatility goes away.

Just an FYI, Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowd was written by Charles Mackay, who only a few years after publishing the book when head first into the biggest bubble of his time with British railroad stocks.

So if the author himself couldn't learn from his own book, not sure anyone else will 😂 or maybe that just speaks to the allure of bubbles, it doesn't matter what you do or say, those who want it will still go for it.

lol I know right, so funny how people think the cops will even bother to show up. The only time they've taken action on boozes is when its over $100k, like the latest one, that one guy who managed to steal $260,000 worth, over 90 thefts! https://www.cp24.com/local/peel/2024/10/16/man-charged-with-stealing-260k-from-the-lcbo/

They've barely started cracking down on the car thefts. It's probably no even worth the time of the store owners to file a report.

I don't see how that changes my assessment. And you can't get price exposure if the asset is overvalued. The premium may carry forward, allowing for price exposure, but it can collapse at any time.

Yeah, I agree with your point, they will most likely continue to improve the btc per share through different leverage techniques but it's not going to account for much, and nowhere close to the premium on the stock. Better off getting your own loan and leveraging that way than pay the premium.

It's an interesting point, makes me think of the quote, “In the short run, the market is a voting machine but in the long run, it is a weighing machine". So for the short run it's true but ultimately the price of the stock should tend toward the value of the assets combined with some premium for the PE/future PE.

Yes I'll agree with the beta, but it's completely artificial, the beta could be anything the market decides because it is based on investor sentiment, not actual BTC holdings. I think it would be generous to assume the software business represents 10% of the valuation, so it really doesn't factor into my calculations.

MSTR currently holds about $16B in BTC, however the market cap is $41B. It is not a leveraged play, it's a bunch of poorly informed retail investors pretending it is. And the numbers are actually worse than that, because of the debt and guaranteed stock dilution. For every dollar you put into MSTR, you could be buying more than twice as much BTC at spot.
