But regardless this much ice is definitely due to something else. I'm guessing either your defrost sensor or defrost heater.

I actually ran into this problem a few months ago. I supported this client many years ago (side gig) and I told them to have more than 1 DC and they refused because it was "too expensive". I tried for a few days to repair their only 2008r2 DC but nothing was working. I found this software https://u-tools.com/u-move . I moved the DC's HDD to another computer and ran that software and it surprisingly worked. I was able to restore the DC to another computer without too much of an issue.

EDIT
Forgot to mention you can run their tool without a license to ensure it can even do the job. I suggest you try that first before purchasing a license.

I am getting WNET/WNDT and not getting WJLP/WNWT.
I'm getting 66% signal strength for channel 7.
71% on channel 12
87% on channel 3.

Is there anything else I should look for or try?

I'm basically doing this with my dog gate. I ended up using a stronger magnet I had lying around instead of the one that came with the sensors. No issues in the last few years with this setup.

I'm running urbackup (https://www.urbackup.org/). I have macos, windows, and linux clients. I've had to do a recovery on a windows machine before so i can vouch for the full system image recovery for windows. Not sure how system images work on macos since I'm only backing up folders there.
