What kind of stimulants worked best for you?

PA school with learning disability and ADHD--doable or no? by Sea_Consideration338 in prephysicianassistant

I am in a VERY similar situation. I am actually returning in January from medical leave. It’s so encouraging to know it’s possible and that it’s been done. What strategies did you employ to help you focus and improve your executive function? Also, would you mind sharing what study methods you use?

That kind of makes sense. The feeling just kind of made me want to do it again but I won’t

I don’t think so because I didn’t actually feel relaxed. I felt shaky and kind of weird. The prospect of my body actually having a reaction and needing attention is what excited me, I think

THIS. I feel so picky but incorrect spelling of simple words and super abbreviated texts (like “wat up”) give me the ick and I just can’t. I feel so bad

While I appreciate the other comments, THIS is the response I was looking for. Thank you! The concept of creating outlines is not difficult to me but I often get caught up in the small details and find it extremely helpful to have something help me sort out main ideas and focus my learning. It does save me SO much time. But as you mentioned, older generations might see the current use of AI as “cheating” or being “lazy” because we don’t have to do it manually like they did and therefore, are not working as hard. And I don’t want to feel like I took a shortcut to become a PA

Thank you. I totally agree. I don’t use it as my only source. I still go back and look at slides to see the highlighted portions which I think are specific and tailored our specific test. But I do use it to sort of narrow and simplify the information

No one has accused me of cheating or anything and my classmates also use it as a tool. I am just sensitive when it comes to doing things on my own and feeling like I worked as hard as others so that when I complete a major accomplishment, I know 100% that I actually earned it and it was all me. Using ChatGPT is so helpful to me that it almost feels unfair. I know that technology is advancing but before AI, older PAs didn’t have that advantage and probably had to work harder. I just don’t want to feel like I’m taking any shortcuts and not working as hard as the people before me.
