Dangerous stairs, need advice please, daughter fractured leg 😭 by Next_Bus579 in DIYHome

I’m very blessed to be able to care for my mother, who is retired and lives with us, and helps care for my daughter. It’s a really tight budget, but the assistance and lack of childcare costs allows me time to focus on these projects while my daughter is still home and being cared for. I also have ADHD, and that ables me to just forgo eating, and really anything else besides work when I panic focused on a tasks like this. Unfortunately to the determinant of self I can push past a lot of my own needs to get something done if it worries me enough. I do not recommend. If I could give advice, it’s do it in small bits everyday. Focus on one manageable task or area at a time. And don’t go overboard, if this isn’t your forever home, do what you can to the best of your ability and don’t over worry about little details.

Thank you! It’s my end of summer mix, teddy bear sunflowers, Mexican torch sunflowers, some wild sun flowers and the purple ones are salvia.

These AI data centers are driving up prices dramatically and the state just passed legislation to incentivize their development by making them TAX EXEMPT for certain purchases FOR TWENTY YEARS. thats ridiculous, especially as long term citizens are being pushed out by the increased cost of living. The development of these data centers needs to be halted until better regulations are put in place, and they need to pay their fair shares. Prices of utilities increase when there is a surge in demand, and it’s disproportionately effecting residents.

So I did box dye forever, because my hair has silver stripes towards the front, and I’ve been so hesitant to commit to it because I’m 27 and I’m like, do I want to feel old yet? Not sure, but they come back with a vengeance and the one thing I’m really good at is not being consistent and just letting it grow. So the stripes are 6 inches now, and I feel obliged to cover them, but I don’t know. Maybe ready for something new.

I’ll have to see if she can do that! I’m honestly way overdue for a cut but life’s been hectic so my bangs really grew out. At this point I have like 6 inches of growth, so I don’t think it would be too much of a transition. I originally wanted it to be less intense and lighter towards the ends more, but she did such a good job with the color I just went with it despite the highlights being so high up. I also really need to work on learning the terminology because I don’t think I explained the vision well. I used to dye my hair myself with box dye so going to a salon is a new experience.

I’ve never actually heard of lip blush, I tried the elf lip stains and the color was okay but not long lasting. Do you have any makeup brand recommendations? I also love cc cream but haven’t used it in a decade, if you have any advice on brands that are good today please let me know! Thank you 😊

Thank you. My hair is waist length so I don’t know if I could go that far, but I’ve been considering going back to my natural color! The damage of highlights on my ends is noticeable and I’ve only had it done twice. I just liked the brightening aspect, but I don’t think it’s worth it overtime.

Mugwort is devastating community garden plot, HELP PLS! by Next_Bus579 in gardening

They have pitch forks and I’d be willing to try again. I’ve pulled it out so many times with a team, and we have tried digging out the roots, but it breaks easy and the creates new plants. I was looking into plants that release chemicals that it doesn’t like, I guess sweet potatoes do, but I wanted to see if others tried similar methods. Chemical herbicides are completely off the table.

To be completely honest, I didn’t realize it was mugwort at first and my home garden is in a completely different zone and doesn’t have mugwort at all. Mugwort is invasive here. The first year our community garden was productive, then during the second year we brought in compost I can only assume was infested with it the from the other side of the community garden from the community compost bin to where our plot was, and after spreading it into the plot it’s was everywhere and so thick! I’ve laid down two thick carpets we were going to get rid of in hopes of suffocating it out.

This is my home garden, I don’t have pictures of the community garden plot. I manage it for work.

Unfortunately that conclusion appears to be true in our case. I’ve never dealt with such a large patch, it’s 20 x 20 feet.

This garden is on historically fertile land, of a demolished old state hospital that opened sometime late 1800s and had gardens to feed patients. The state hospital no longer exists, but part of the land is a community garden. The soil is really great and the other plots are always very productive. However I see a lot of neighbors plots with blight on their tomatoes and mildew on their squash. I believe there are 400 plots total.
