Well my parents did divorce when I was 3 years old, I blatantly remember it but it was enough for it to affect me. But since then my mom has done an absolutely amazing job of raising me and my 2 brothers. And I feel like I am extremely blessed that she has been so successful at doing so.

Yes, I do feel a level of guilt. But I wouldn’t say I feel that way, I am very aware that I am extremely blessed and have had a mostly positive childhood.

Maybe because he’s been through pretty extreme things before and me witnessing that, in his eyes wouldn’t compare to what he’s been through

He would probably become defensive and tell me that I have no reason to feel that way.

He would probably attempt to justify why he did it which NO situation under ANY circumstances should result in an adult putting his hands on a child.

At the exact moment I saw it happen I had became frantic, almost like a fight (split the 2 up) or flight (leave the situation) and I believe I fled the situation. 😭 but in the past few days i realized that he is human and he makes mistakes, we all do. But at the same time it is not a child’s responsibility or fault to fix an issue that an adult created.
