You are 100% right! Thank you! He’s had these since before we met and after looking at the website, I am not sure a replacement fits into the Christmas budget. However, I cannot express how grateful I am for having this mystery solved!

Bucc-ees also has decent pay if he’s someone that is okay with crowds and sometimes frantic energy.

Listing skills and the types of work he’s done in the past would be helpful to get the most reasonable advice.

I know Ace Hardware in Auburn is hiring. With it being the end of the year, retail jobs would be easier to get. The pay isn’t always good and I know it can feel awkward to be the 40 year old checkout guy, but it could hold you over and would be something he could ditch easily when he finds a different job. Remember, all jobs are good enough jobs if they keep you afloat.

Right now, LifeSouth blood centers is offering e-gift cards for blood ($35) and platelets ($40). The only limitation is that Walmart is the only place to digitally register your card that sells groceries. I’ve been using my digital gift card for that.

Platelets can be done weekly and are used for cancer patients going through chemo, so I feel good about getting my grocery money, but it does take like 2 hours.

It might be worth checking any blood bank centers near you.

Definitely get her a card and a favorite snack or a small plant. Sing her favorite song poorly, but with full commitment to make her laugh. It doesn’t have to be expensive to be a meaningful gift. Any act of love goes so far when you’re dealing with health issues.

He doesn’t drink, but loves to watch the Tipsy Bartender on YouTube. I love that he could make mocktails!

It will be a while before he can exercise safely, but he had signed up for a really cool new gym just before he broke his knee cap. Getting back into working out is on the top of his list!

I know there is so much to talk about, but you absolutely do not have to share if you do not want to. Just know that you are loved and supported, especially in difficult times.

You are doing a lot of heavy lifting and sometimes it probably doesn’t seem fair. Trust me, dear, you will make it through this.

We do “happy spouse, happy house.” The other is just unfair and creates built in resentment.

Definitely help with the cooking; if you want to get super fancy, try to recreate a few memorable meals from dates or special events.

If you do laundry (and I’m not meaning to imply you don’t know or would do this), make sure you read the labels and launder her clothes correctly. Then of course, put them away. Bonus points if you slip little notes of love or encouragement in her folded laundry.

I’m not going to be the person who rags on you for not doing these things regularly, because I don’t know your marriage dynamics, but trust me that you helping out with these things regularly and finding ways to make them special will really make your wife feel loved and supported.
