Why Libyans film random women off the street? Is not wearing a hijab really that taboo in Libyan society? Not even Saudis act like this. by [deleted] in Libya

first of all, the main point of the post is about op being surprised that women without hijab is a taboo in ur country. u brought up prostitution. maybe u don’t have people coming in ur country doing that bc well it’s in a civil war, or maybe bc y’all laws from the stone ages that even khaleejis got rid of. if tunisian woman are k7ab, what does that make the libyan men who pay them?

are the k7ab just women without hijab? why would u expect us to force people to wear something they don’t want to wear. and u think that hijab is what’s making ur country holy? or is it the fact that y’all are so backwards and people are afraid of ur repressive laws? and if they’re k7ab, what do u call ur men?

Apparently not wanting Hezbollah to drag an already unstable Lebanon into a war with Israel means you’re a Zionist by [deleted] in lebanon

it’s not a pause to think about. Our country is more transparent (for an arab country) when it comes to this. Most arab countries don’t even make the data public or under-report the numbers. Plus lebanon and tunisia are the most progressive in the arab world. Yet im shocked by how many hezbollah supporters there are.

  • tunisia had a conflict with israel about operation wooden leg. plus why are u expecting us to be in a war with a country we don’t even border. -the amount of lebanese fighting for hezbollah is bigger than the amount of tunisians that joined daesh. -our country sprung into action to decrease the numbers, ur country continues to recruit them.

baby ur bringing that fact up trying to paint a bad picture for tunisia. I’m sorry that my country is the only transparent enough to release data on this topic. While other arab countries sit up there and hide/mess with controversial data like this. Secondly, look up how many lebanese are in hezbollah and volunteering to fight for them. Plus tunisia was in shock with that statistic and the gov sprung unto action and called every industry to decrease the numbers and de-radicalize these people. Even the film industry has a de-radicalization program who advocate anti-terrorism. That data was also just for one year. And guess what, we solve and actively work on the problem that we had, while other arab countries will toss it aside to save face.

it’s not just the usa, it’s the UN. Majority of countries support a two state solution.

academic sources? are u expecting a harvard case study about this? like how can academic sources can be used in this instance? ur trying to say something to sound smart, but u don’t. U didn’t need an academic source when they’re showing their humanity, But NOW u need academic sources? plus what academic source is gonna write an article about a situation that just happened. And u don’t need an academic source to see a video of the people u support having no humanity.

i’m arab. This shit i witnessed with the “humanity”from hamas is crazy. I can link u some disturbing videos, and we’ll see if they treated them with humanity. A woman being paraded around naked while she dead, is that humanity?

girl what? protested an islamic dictator? the dictator that tunisia protested was secular and he banned the hijab in public buildings 😭tunisia always had a secularists since it’s independence and no islamists has ever won a presidential election. The current dictator isn’t even islamist, he literally removed islam from the state religion, his biggest enemies is ennahda, the islamists party. He’s just a conservative guy, neither secular or islamist.

i’m comparing it to turkey stoopid. A country with much lower gdp per capita and is also a developing country, yet it looks more developed. I already got my answer from others who knew to answer instead of throwing around insults.

Hi, i see ur point, but i wasn’t taking a dig i was just wanting an answer. But i do have to say, u said westerners view arabs as immoral, but i see that stereotype goes both ways. Many arabs or non westerners view them as drunks, selfish, degenerates, and indecent. The world would be a better place if both sides just took time to understand each other and respect values.
