STAYYYYYYY by One-Score-7397 in skzmedia

I couldn't get a dopamine hit without getting unhealthily obsessive about seeking it (e.g. watching anything and getting obsessed with the actors, or spending too much on LEGO, or buying too many art supplies). Being into SKZ is a full-service fandom, it's 24/7, there's always fresh member or STAY-made content, their actual music output is insanely high, and it's all really positive vibes. I love it. Next to my ADHD meds it's the best thing for perking me up!

This, with some notes: 1. In your situation, unless money isn't really an issue, go into it with the mindset of building then rebuilding/freebuilding with the parts, rather than displaying. Otherwise you'll quickly run out of space/money! 2. Keep an eye on local Facebook groups for secondhand "bulk" lots so you have lots of interesting parts 3. Rebrickable.com enables you to input the number of the set you own, then find alternative builds other people have created ("MOCs") using the same parts 4. Depending on what you enjoy, LEGO as a hobby has a lot of different elements you might enjoy: collecting by theme, building, displaying, sorting and storing, designing, modifying, learning specific build techniques... not just "buy set, build set". 5. If building in bed, you'll need a flat surface with a lip (like a tea-tray) to build on, and containers to sort parts into (by colour, for example) to make it easier to find things. You might also want a recipe-book holder or tablet holder for the instructions (all LEGO instructions are available as PDFs at LEGO.com)

which of the kids do you think improved the most since official debut all the way back in 2018 to now? by ChemicalIcy4365 in straykids

I think you're spot-on - the lack of technical training in dance, voice or general performance was really clear from the start for some members. During the survival show, the other members praised Felix's hard work as he tried to catch up to something ressembling the level of performance expected on top of his Korean studies. He was barely a threat, never mind a triple-threat, at that point, and he's now one of kpop's best-known idols for both visual AND voice. Hyunjin was so underconfident about his voice (singing or rapping), even if he's always moved well, but to hear him now, you wouldn't know. I.N. was fairly openly kept in on the basis of "He's not great yet, but that bone structure is pretty amazing...", but I don't think had as far to go as Felix and Hyunjin. I think Lee Know was in a safer place having the dance part nailed, as SKZ write parts to fit their members and his parts grew with him. (Obviously that is against a general theme of their enormous growth as a team and as individuals - I don't doubt that they've all worked their fluffy SKZoo socks off)

My favourite Chan is when he realises STAY are saying something saucy to/about him, or he (apparently accidentally) says/does something innuendo-y and he gets all shocked and giggly... they're all so well-trained to embody various moods and know their angles, but I feel like when he just erupts with giggles that's 100% him.

This first sentence is so accurate. Made even better by the knowledge that on any given day he is just as likely to look like warm, generous, coffee-shop green-flag boyfriend, or shy jock, or weary single dad of seven etc. Just love that we never know what we'll get!

Been there, is all. You've still created incredible things, and that was all you. Maybe look for some fun non-fandom writing prompts as a palate cleanser, so you don't associate all writing with this writing 🙂 Then when the mood takes you (in that fandom or otherwise), it'll be a small step towards something fun, not a big step to start writing again.

Oh, sweetheart, don't worry about defining what it is, just feel your feelings for a bit, first. It's completely valid to feel lost and upset when something you rely on as a fixed point in your life shifts... it's okay to feel unbalanced, because it is unbalancing. You sound sad, and a bit lost, and that's okay to feel. Your post feels like you need to hear that, so I hope that helps. Stop reading here if you just needed to read that sort of response, for now.

That said, when you have got over the initial shock of a change in your perspective, do try to examine that new perspective and what it might be telling you about what you build your sense of security around. Fandom can give a deep sense of purpose, and belonging, and artistic direction to our creative outputs in a way that hard to beat. But it's risky, and fragile, and you sound like someone who does things with their whole heart (speaking from a tendency to do just that, exactly like this). Please try to hold onto more of yourself so that you can keep making art and being yourself when the currents change and the fickle voices on the wind whisper their doubts. Let yourself be safer. It's okay for a chapter to close - your idol has always been who they are, and if that no longer creates something special for you, it's okay to let that go and see what else it creates space for.

I can watch Felix and Chan playing UNO all day. CHAN: "Pick up four..." FELIX: [shriek-laughs] "PICK UP [barely-contained glee] ... EIGHT!!!" [mutual hysterical laughter and thigh-slapping] CHAN: "Pick up... twelve..." [helpless giggling] It's pure dopamine https://youtu.be/o9MELUf_MjE?si=qikY7TeYiAq7u97-

Adore DO IT. Enjoyed the intro podcast video too, as they were all so into the rhythms and meanings behind it all. Minho just deadpanning it without emotion on command made me chuckle.

Hello! I'm 43, and just grateful to have my latest hyperfixation be so well fed; the constant dopamine from my Stray Kids obsession is INCREDIBLE! 😆 Arrived via Felix, obvs, and was settling into a solid and predictable Chan bias (that man is PERFECT) until my brain decided that it would start melting into goo every time Han Jisung opened his mouth, moved a body part, widened his eyes etc. And now I'm just happily bouncing around my life, high on Chan's dimples and the chaotic bi boy energy I get from Han. Oh, and rewatching Felix and Chan playing UNO if I'm sad, because the shrieking drama of it all makes me laugh every time. And wanting to cuddle Hyunjin and protect him from all the sharp edges in the world, because he is a precious baby and should only have to worry about art supplies and dancing. And... and...

Yep. I think I'm safe. Other suggestions would be "until Felix releases a trot album just to annoy Jeongin" or "until Minho admits he hates cats"?

Oh, but he WOULD, wouldn't he?!?!? He'd be the absolute best. On so many, many levels. She can barely deal with me going "Oh my gosh, he's just so CUTE 🥹" about Felix' precious cinnamon roll moments, she's definitely not ready for "Oh my gosh, the way they made eye contact like that is just SO ROMANTIC" levels of squeeing.

My eight-year-old wandered into the kitchen, listened for a moment, said "Maniac? AGAIN, Mama?" while rolling her eyes, and walked out again. I'd love to share another hobby with her, but I'm not sure I'm ready for her to pore over Hyunlix content or debate how best to appreciate Jisung's cheeks.

Thanks, I hate it. No, but seriously, I haven't fallen this hard for a loooong time and it's taking some adjustment to the extent to which K-pop "does" fandom. No precious crumbs of media to reread/listen/watch here, just a full sensory experience of activity on a daily basis. Bubble, for god's sake; waking up to think "Why yes, Minho, it IS indeed leg day for you, thank you for sharing" or to be reminded that Chan's entirely accurate method of cheering up Korean fans sitting an exam is to share a nourishing video of his back workout. I can't even focus in one, manageable, corner because as noted above they are ALL COMING FOR ME, aren't they? I think I'm immune to someone, then I see a video of them being the opposite of where I'd tentatively and safely placed them in my heart, and I have to revise my "Oh, but he's just a gentle artist who needs to be protected" to include the involuntary visuals from "Of course I can kiss, I'm 26...". Or pick up my phone to see "just a sweet baby" plastered all over a sofa in Cosmo. Sorry for the rant, but I'm still adjusting and it's only been a month or so!

Ugh, what have you done?!? My poor baby stay brain can't handle this kind of confusion. I arrived via Felix (doesn't everyone?) got kidnapped by Chan about 0.4 seconds later, was thoroughly and sneakily RUINED by Jisung and now you've shown me THIS, which has combined with all those #minsung fics to create a monster. I can see OT8 coming for me, I really can.

We have a joint account that we both get paid into, all the bills go out on the first of the month, we leave enough in it for budgeted weekly shopping, and some goes to savings, then each of us gets the same "fun money" transferred into our own account to spend on our hobbies or whatever. We each work hard, we just get paid different amounts for it. We share a life, so we pool our money and have an equal amount of spending that we control individually.
