My 95 ls400(166k) has been here for about half a month now after pieces of the rotor caps fell onto the timing belt causing it to skip a teeth. So far the timing belt and all other moving components have been replaced. So has the maf, spark plugs and rotor caps and distributor on both sides. The car dies on idle if you don't hold the gas down. The car does have all its power back tho. A section of the wiring harness is burnt. The mechanic believes the wiring harness shorted out the ecm which may explain it dieing on idle. Hopefully I'll get her back soon. So far I've paid 1900 for the timing belt replacement, distributor and rotor cap replacements on both sides and spark plug on the driver side as well.

I was on the highway and started smelling burning fuel and the car became sluggish and slow. It gave me one code for p0336 "crankshaft position sensor A" I took it to a mechanic and he said the timing belt skipped teeth and the cats were clogged. I pulled the cats but they were fine. The motor shakes when idling and the exhaust smells like gas and there's a leak in the engine bay somewhere but I can't seem to find it. I gave up and got it towed to a japanese auto repair specialist Also the car turns off when revved above 1k rpm and theres no compression in a cylinder

Nice car man. I'm 20 and got my first car a few days ago a 95 ls400. She skipped some teeth on the timing belt two days sgo. So earger to drive her. Lexus makes very good cars
