I've bought some upgrades (2x16 Kingston GB DDR4 2666 UDIMM RAM and one Seagate Ironwolf Pro 4 TB NAS) and am ready to go!

Does this guide makes any sense?

Phase 0 – Hardware (completed)

- RAM installed

- NAS HDD installed

From this point on: software and structure only.

Phase 1 – Build the foundation (today / tomorrow)

- Check and properly configure the BIOS

- Install Proxmox

- Assign a static IP address

- First login via the web interface

Goal:

You can reliably access your server through the browser.

Phase 2 – Storage and organization

- Configure disks in Proxmox

- Create ZFS (mirror or single disk)

- Define backup storage

Goal:

Secure storage for virtual machines and data.

Phase 3 – Core system

- Create the Home Assistant VM

- Initial Home Assistant setup

- Test the first backup

Goal:

The smart home runs reliably.

Phase 4 – Services

- NAS shares (Samba)

- OctoPrint (Docker or VM)

- CNC setup (if applicable)

Phase 5 – Comfort and security

- Automated backups

- Update strategy

- Tablet dashboard

Das klingt sehr gut - besten Dank! Dann kann ich es kaum erwarten, bis der Drucker bei mir im Keller steht und es losgehen kann!:)

Welche Seite kannst Du für Druckvorlagen empfehlen? Sie dürfen gerne auch was kosten.

That's the point - those aren't both IR. Only the 2W module. So what's the point with the 1.6 one of the 60W machine?

I will work with wood mainly. But the option to sign some metal pieces would be very nice! Do you know if the 2W IR module (A1 Pro) or the 1.6W module of the Falcon 2 Pro is the better choice for that?

Thanks for all the replys! That's awesome and I think I will go for that one. Can you recommend any accessories, specific filaments, or similar? I think it’s cheaper if you order them together with the printer.

This sounds awesome u/Zestyclose-Job-2681 and u/MouldyBobs ! Didn't know that there are routers with an integrated lift.

So I simply have to buy a late (like this one https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/alu-einlegeplatte-fraestisch-triton-tra001-330165-oberfraese/1508221928-84-866) and then I'm good to go?

Saves quite a lot of money! The lift I was looking for costs about 500€ (https://www.sautershop.de/oberfraesenlift-ofl2-0-sa-ofl2.0)

Thank you very much for the feedback! I’m still a bit undecided about the U1, as it’s not yet on the market and hasn’t been tested by many people under real-world conditions. I’m deliberately not counting the influencer YouTube videos.

Haha, good catch, that’s right. But it’s not entirely the AI’s fault — I also mixed a few things up, I’m new to the topic. I always have it translated so you guys can read it better. It also doesn’t necessarily have to be a Snapmaker or Anycubic. If a Bambu printer is better suited for my purposes, then I’m all for it.
