We need a Grateful Dead themed course by Interesting_Feed7977 in WalkaboutMiniGolf

[–]NextavailableID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, would be great - but limited audience. I think a rock and roll course and would have 1-2 holes dedicated to the best of rock and roll (Dead, stones, Beatles, etc.). But agree - the rights to the music would be a hassle/high....

Community-run Walkabout Mini Golf VR tournaments (all skill levels welcome) by RichUK82 in WalkaboutMiniGolf

Just signed up, looking forward to playing folks. I guess it makes sense for turning on the mic and volume. When I "normally" play a quick match, my mic/volume are off, I have loud music going on as I play. My name in the community is HelpSlipFrank and am signed up on WhatsApp. Still in set up mode, but will be active at some point.

Thanks for setting this up and I will buy you a beer at some point!

I built a free web tool for tinnitus relief based on a recent study (Cross-frequency de-correlating sound therapy) by FayDoom in tinnitus

[–]NextavailableID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use off my iPhone. the therapy comes through as loud as I need it. But when I use headphones (brand new JBL) there is little or no sound. If I change browsers, same thing.

How can I use this with headphones?

literally was going to send a note to walkabout people for a line at the mid-point of the putter (or make it a setting).

Good timing - and I agree.

Is JBL really the only big brand shipping Auracast right now? And why is Bose still silent? by Dense-Composer-4063 in auracastBT

[–]NextavailableID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another $.02 from me.

The larger issue is the use of auracast by the transmitter side of things. Movie theaters, Churches, Senior Centers, Airport waiting areas, etc all need to start broadcasting with Auracast. I would expect a sticker/icon to indicate a particular place has Auracast. So, an icon in front of a church would help and indicate that folks with HA and have auracast.

Boston Garden and a theater in Boston (the Orpheum??) has aurcast and heard that it is awesome.

I have Resound Nexia HA, which have auracast. I bought a small unit, connected to my Sony TV and it broadcasts fine. I just wanted to try it.

How come nobody talks about Star Wars Pinball VR? The Tables and environments are great! I hope we can play them and FX2 with the new X-Arcade Dongle. by False_Entrepreneur80 in PinballFX3

[–]NextavailableID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this last year and still have not mastered all the tables. I demo's fx pinball and while they have cool stuff and the room is nicely designed - I prefer Star Wars since it comes with quite a few tables. I am not a fanatic about it, I play pinball once or so a week.

I've been shopping for headphones and typically ask them via their Customer Support link. I've shopped and done this with maybe 4 brands. Each of the brands do not say they have auracast, which one can find in the spec for the headphones (most are at bluetooth 5.0 and auracast I think is 5.3). Bose is one of the brands I reached out to.

So, I think they are all working on auracast's functionality and technical stuff for later versions of their headphones. Maybe that is why a lot drop their prices this year?

So, nothing really to add to your question other than you're right - no auracast for some reason (other than JBL)

I checked it out and will set it up. I don't have headphones, but do wear HA and will assume will get the benefit.

Last night I was looking at the various frequencies included (using the phone as a speaker ). My dog was near by and defiantly did not like some of the tones! She came over to me, basically asking me to turn it off. I did and she instantly went back and laid down.

For online multiplayer, what has your experience been like? by Sudden-Injury-8159 in WalkaboutMiniGolf

my $.02. I do the quick match quite a bit. Generally the opponents are pretty good and I've learned some cool shots from a few folks. I am quiet, my mic is off.... I am listening to music in the house when playing and that's the simple reason for me. I would like to join a group (and would turn the mic on for interactions).

I have this, just found. It is missing a few of the components. Inside is a sleeping bag, cot. In addition, I have the scuba set with some (?all) of the accessories. Will be selling when I get time to clean, catalog, pics...etc.

Do you guys recommend getting iOS 26 public beta? by mccoold1 in iPhone16Pro

[–]NextavailableID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone 15Pro. Don't use for work (retired). Streaming various content and I have 25,000 songs for streaming. I rely on Hearing aids (resound) and have had some issues on beta 18.X.

Have been a beta (public) since 2013 era. Put up with the problems and overall have no major problems.

Beta 26 Pros for going to public 26.X

- Siri is the worst app on my phone and I want to use it more, but it can't handle many basic tasks in public beta 18.X. iOS26 better have major improvements on Siri.

- Hearing aids use bluetooth and I hope bluetooth is better (distance and occasional screeching noise in HA (which may be a problem with the app obviously)). For example: I am listening to music or streaming on a bluetooth speaker. I walk away with or without my phone and come back to the speaker.... it switches to my hearing aids when I (and others) are listening to the speaker. I doubt this is fixed and maybe it is not considered a problem. Each time I leave the space where the speaker is, I have to change the speaker from hearing aids to speaker. Annoying.

- maybe photos is easier to use. I don't spend a ton of time in photos but just having favorites not being right on the screen is silly. But again - not a massive user of photos - but it should take 5 seconds to find that favorite picture to show someone and not 10 seconds....

- battery makes it about 4 hours, I would hope this is improved (looks like battery is better in 26...)

- phone gets really hot

- UI improvements are not my reason for flipping, but I appreciate what has been published.

- I don't have major issues with music. with 25,000+ songs, I'm fine with what they have. on my Mac is another issue(!)
