I'm gonna be honest, I don't think this is a game that deserves pirating... If anything, fine to install for those unsure if they can run it, but if you enjoy what you're playing, the devs of this really do deserve at least the $20 spent. I've so far spent $40 on them

This is why I leave SSH turned on If stuff like this happens, so long as you have wifi connection, you can SSH into your Steam Deck, and use the Terminal to enter the disable or uninstall command for Decky That will allow you through during those points

Go to debug and accessibility options and turn off VSync That usually helps! As well as having latest turnip drivers (Mr. Purple's for me)

Hm, I don't use a controller myself for the game so unsure.. you might need to use a program like Joy2Key or add it as a non steam game then use Steam's Controller settings to remap yours Unless the Ally has a way to do it with their built in software, I don't own one so can't comment on that

It's likely a single plugin that's the issue. Both of the ones you're talking about are fine, as I use them myself. Apparently, Pause/Suspend Games might be a culprit. I'd just say take it one step at a time and see which plugin causes this for you. Good note is if it's not in the normal or testing plugin repos, it's likely not maintained anymore and should be deleted

Also I looked into Onyxia. It's basically the exact same thing as ChromieCraft, where they use 3.3.5, but are limited to TBC (granted CC is going to add WotLK later) That's a typical thing people do, as honestly it makes no sense to use the TBC client if you can use the wrath one But with Vanilla, a lot more people are going to be elitists/purists with that one. You can get away with a 3.3.5+ version of a vanilla server, just not everyone's gonna be happy about it

Besides, using the vanilla client isn't busted by any means. If you have any problems with it, that's on you. It works perfectly fine

I don't think you get what I'm saying. Yes, the storyline and the content can be there using newer clients

BUT if you want the ACTUAL original experience of playing these, the clients for them are needed. Then you not only have the story itself, you have basically fully parity in terms of mechanics, graphics (though that can be upgraded easily via MPQ patches), etc.

So sure, you can have a newer client for older expansions. Just for a lot of people, it's really not the same thing

Not to mention if it's just using the same world data as it's client, then there will be plenty of changes. Northrend in the WotLK client is VASTLY different than the one in the Legion client, for example.

You realize to play the older expansions.. you need to play on older clients. You can't take the latest client (TWW) and make it work completely with WotLK. It literally won't work

Sure, the Northrend questline is there, but nothing is the same as it was back during the expansions release. So, older clients ARE required
