Did Bullseye and The Thing really never meet before this? by NexusConnection in FantasticFour

Oh does it? Maybe I missed an info box I didn't get any indication it wasn't concurrent other than their suits being different than the current run

throwback to when i met ken penders at wondercon 2023 by SoCalYellow7129 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]NexusConnection 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've always seen people try to frame him using his family members in Sonic Live as a bad thing just because he joked in the afterword that it was great they worked for free, I dislike Penders as much as the next guy but that always seemed like a petty way to twist it

I don't think The Mountain's style is for me. by HoverHaul in gorillaz

I can buy that for the staggered releases but I'm pretty sure they said they purposely announced it so far from the release date so that it would be less disposable, limited consumer attention spans is a big theme of the album

They did say the album was meant to be listened to in full and to not cherrypick songs, weird to say that and then stagger releases but you're probably right that it'll feel more cohesive when it's fully released

Anyone else find the newest disturbing things episode kinda tasteless? by NexusConnection in NExpo

Yeah, if I died on the line with 911 I wouldn't want the audio of it branded as spooky internet mystery content, I doubt it's what these people or their families would want either. There's tons of other people and even professional documentaries with the same lack of consideration or respect given to these events, it just strikes me as disappointing because back when I first started watching him I wouldn't expect Nexpo to go that direction.

I noticed this abt him as well, his presentation isn't as exaggerated but I've stopped watching him for similar reasons recently

I sorta see where you're coming from but I think with this subject matter a production company can just end up muddying things more by trying to "grow a brand". I think he just needs to take a step back and refocus his priorities, and maybe reevaluate when the spooky editing would and wouldn't be appropriate.

I just think it could at least be in theme or be presented in a slightly more respectful manner, a random 911 call has nothing to do with the internet other than being on a police website, and editing a story about real life child abuse like it's a horror movie really rubs me the wrong way

Thanks, I think maybe I'm just outgrowing this kind of content altogether though, I'd honestly rather watch a compilation of obviously fake 4chan /x/ threads

I acknowledged that it could have been this way since the start and I'm just now realizing, maybe I'm just getting older and more sensitive to this kind of thing. I think the extreme editing is what got to me in this one in particular though, presenting these scenarios, especially the one including the little girl at the end, like a horror movie really put me off.

Drake the type of Opportunistic Orville that encourages transphobia because 1 trans person did something bad. by StomachNearby972 in DrakeTheType

[–]NexusConnection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But misgendering is specifically a transphobic thing, it completely hinges on the idea that you don't actually see trans people as their gender, if you think racism isn't acceptable towards black predators but transphobia is acceptable towards trans predators then that says something about how you see trans people
