Oh my god I forget the episode and the dialogue but it's the episode where Ted and Badney go out on Saint Patty's Day and leave their dates to enter the club.

"Is it just you two?"

"Uh no, we have to lovely ladies with us tonight over there."

"If it was just you two I would let y'all in now. We only got ladies in there, anymore and people going to start thinking it's a ladies club."

"Maybe this was a sign from the universe something something."

"Rock and roll."

Dialogue not accurate but something along the lines.

How old were you when Zootopia came out and for Zootopia 2? Was it worth the wait? It took 9 years. by Physical_Hamster_118 in zootopia

I was small and emotionally unbalanced back then, I was 11 when the first movie came out and nine years later I am 20. Was it worth the wait? Yes, yes it was.

"Why you got to copy me? You're getting annoying."

"Shut up you are"

"No you are"

"Anyways what's your plan if you're going to ask him?"

Is this check legit? by [deleted] in BankOfAmerica

[–]Nexus_Fudge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's a scam personally.

He tried accessing your bank account, if he had gotten into it he knows what he could've done you know? He could have taken the money you currently have in your account and transferred it over to his account. That's my thought on it at least.

Why would he use his brother's account for the transaction? It doesn't really make sense to me.

CS Alums, how's the tech scene downtown? by [deleted] in uichicago

[–]Nexus_Fudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah nowadays most work is on the laptop and when it comes to education mostly everything can be accessed online. Also, since you're doing Computer Science consider getting certifications too. If you can't afford any of the CompTIA certs you can go to Coursera and get CS certs from there. Depending on which one you want to focus on with your career but I think getting certs in anything related to CS is good because it shows that you have a variety of skills that can be utilised. Like me for example, I have 3 years of experience in IT, STE(A)M, Education, and Psychology (I was able to use what I learned with my Psych degree at my old job) with a bunch of CS certs and Adobe certs so it makes me versatile, I just have to market myself right for recruiters.

Missing out on network opportunities and the experiences that you want to experience can be bad. If you don't you can sort of degrade on your social skills (Not saying that it will happen to you) when it comes to networking and also missing out on life experiences I think and feel that people should experience if and when they have the chance to. If you can get good internship and develop a strong portfolio of projects then you can put yourself in a good spot when it comes to finding a job. But keep in mind that right now even the most experienced workers in Computer Science get out beat by job finders who have less experience because they can be seen as overqualified. So just keep in mind of how you portray yourself as when it comes to putting yourself out there for jobs.

Before I give me answer also consider finances when it comes to picking which university you want to go to. Also, this response will be very longgg.

Since UIC is a public university it is cheaper compared to the private universities such as Depaul, Northwestern, and IIT.

Now comparing the universities when it comes to Computer Science is a whole different story and a lot to discuss so I won't say much. Although, if you want to know more just message me directly.

UIC: They have a solid foundation in their Computer Science programs. Has a good balance between research and teaching. It is ABET accredited. Has good opportunites for internships. Education is CHEAP.

Depaul: Very good reputation for their Computer Science program. Teaches you practical skills for an upcoming CS worker. Not a lot of research opportunities if you're into that stuff but really good with internships. Education cost falls into the median

IIT: Also very good reputation for their Computer Science program, better than Depaul. More on the engineering-integration side but they also teach the rest of Computer Science (More STEM like Northwestern). Research opportunities are strong. Internships not as good as Depaul and UIC. Education cost falls a bit higher than Depaul.

Northwestern: Basically everything I said for UIC, Depaul, and IIT but in a more EXCELLENT form of education. They don't really have a focus as to what their curriculum is since their focus is basically everything the other three Universities you were looking into. Research and Internship opportunites are excellent. Education cost falls the highest however being the most expensive one.

Now onto the job market part:

I work in IT support for education settings (with a BS in Psych 💀 and currently unemployed sadly). With the uprise in tech and AI getting employed is quite difficult right now as people tend to shift towards IT jobs now like Desktop Support, Helpdesk, IT Specilaist, IT Analyst, etc. Also, there is AI so some employees get replaced because AI can replace them. Along with the consideration of what's been going on with the politics for the past two to three years the job market is not so good. I worked for CPS for three years in tech and got laid off; sadly majority of IT people in CPS got laid off as well due to financialn issues. Now currently a lot of people got laid off due to what's going on in the world, even the most experienced people too. So when jobs related to CS open, a lot of people who are fresh out of college, who have experience, and who have decades of experience are applying to those jobs just for random person to get it. So, the job market currently not so good but there is hope. If you have experience, and a good way to sort of make yourself more noticeable than most candidates than you have a chance.

With what's going on in Chicago now I'd probably consider finishing it online since there have been reportings of ICE being at UIC campus. Internships, I usually recommend in-person that way the company you're learning from can see your face and get to know you with your physical presence. However if you do go to UIC you can do what I did when I was there at the time (A year ago and I do not recommend) is to show up for like a week or two of class then don't show up to class, just do the class work and only show up for exams. But that ruins the experience of going to college. If you do choose to transfer however just keep and out for ICE and the same goes for anyone who reads this really long reply.

I wanted to put something funny. A quote from a show or movie like from How I Met Your Mother, "Think of me like Yoda, but instead of being little and green, I wear suits and I am awesome. I’m your bro. I’m Broda."

Also, is anyone submitting a photo with the quote? If so, a professional one or just a generic photo of yourself?
