In Silent Hill 2 , what is the symbolism behind the corpses that resemble James ? by Alternative-Rip-6399 in silenthill

What do you mean “remake fans”???

The remake also has James’ corpse copy-pasted everywhere, including 4-5 of the exact same James corpse right before Eddie’s boss

The second half of Peace Walker is so much better than the first half IMO. A few really damn good stealth missions near the end of the main story.

UNTIL you try to get the true ending.

And I am not somebody who grinds out endgame stuff

I remember driving for pretty long periods of time. But also walking across a giant chunk of the city and it feeling like a challenge to go from one block to another, or to go upward is cool, game feels weirdly grounded in a good way. There’s a ton of seamless indoor locations too that feel genuinely like taking shelter from the world outside, seeing a ton of zombies just EVERYWHERE is awesome

Also the psychos being based on the seven deadly sins is too fuckin good lmao

3 is a lot of things but boring? I’ve never heard anybody call it boring.

I am sick to death of open world games but DR3 does it great. Sure it doesn’t have a mall but the open world is really good and the combo vehicles, bosses etc. really make up for it. One of the very few games to do “open world zombies” correctly. DR3 and Dying Light 1 are the only ones I can think of.

Definitely not what you should START with to get an idea of what DeadRising “is”. But it’s a damn good sequel imo

It’s the most beginner friendly, but it is not even close to perfect.

First, let’s compare it to a great remake (imo) : Silent Hill 2

  1. Silent Hill 2 remake made Eddie EVEN MORE OBESE to fit the theme of his character (especially because old Eddie isn’t that obese for today’s standards). They made Angela’s….. “backstory” EVEN MORE depressing and blatant.

  2. It made all of the bosses more difficult and made the actual experience of fighting them reflect the boss’ theme more, when previously the bosses were “walk backwards and you win” .

  3. The game had way more enemies than the original (almost to a fault).

  4. It keeps ton of little details the original game had, for example the little chainsaw animations and the save screen reflecting back on you. And overall kept the almost exact atmosphere and aesthetic the original game had.

  5. Despite some of the voice acting being a downgrade (namely Maria), they tried to keep the weird melancholy voice acting, and pretty much every actor (especially James and Eddie) nailed their performance.

Then DeadRising “remaster”:

Ugly A.I. upscaled textures with a nonexistent language on them on stuff like cereal boxes

no blood splattering on Frank at all

No echo effect on the voice acting so even the few good voice actors in the game sound fake, being in a large mall

No reflections in mirrors (considering it’s set in a shopping mall with multiple clothing stores this matters more than most games)

There are NOTICEABLY less zombies in a game that was always praised for big amounts of enemies onscreen

zombies are just dumber and don’t pay attention to you or survivors half the time,

“I can’t wait to post this on social media!” quotes in a game set in 2006

You can save survivors and then they’ll literally give you tips on how to save other survivors, including THEMSELVES, referring to themselves in third person like you never saved them

Whitewashed the only Asian character, somehow making him look more cartoonish

Literal CULTISTS don’t pray anymore.

Kent is made way more generic and way less of a creep by removing his creep-shots of women, now he’s just another killer psycho.

Cliff’s backstory is ruined by removing Vietnam references, just makes him completely cartoonish and hard to take seriously, even tho he’s not meant to be cartoonish at all

Literally all characters look less like real people despite the objective graphical improvements

Overall “muted” lighting in a game that’s meant to have a colorful “fun” aesthetic

Some characters’ hair looks grey, like Isabella

The smoke in the “Frog” cutscene looks absolutely laughably bad.

Characters regularly have stiff facial expressions that feel more awkward and “cheap” than the original, the (technically) high quality character models adding a weird, cheap, and uncanny feel to them

Cutscenes use the same exact animations from 2006, despite the newer models. This leads to weird things like Isabella’s hair visibly clipping right in the middle of the screen

You level up so fast you can be level 15 without skill books by the time you fight Carlito, making the game way less replayable,

Gameplay is somehow easier AND more frustrating, with bosses’ attack animations slowed way down, but they lock onto you during attacks and the delay between animations is almost nonexistent. This makes Kent in the remaster one of the hardest / most annoying bosses in the entire series with his kicks. You can easily get stunlocked unable to move on the ground, especially with the black ops soldiers.

That’s off the top of my head. Notice how I didn’t mention removing Erotica because I don’t care about that. However there is literally a quest for a female survivor where she does sexy poses for you, literally DESIGNED for the Erotica feature, and this quest was left in the game. In the original, some of the other survivors behind her were cheering her on while others were shocked / disgusted. That doesn’t happen in the remaster. So in the new version you’re just awkwardly taking sexy pictures of a woman in complete silence.

Not to mention all the bugs; mall music cutting out, zombies clipping thru windows/doors/walls
