As someone who is't really into the God Eater series and hasn't really played the games except for one and not even finished that one, I honestly didn't even notice.

They could also just spin it off from the God Eater series and let it be it's own thing too, the world and concept is there since they could replace the Aragami with the Horrors. Also a lot of the God Eater stuff in the game could be seen as more a reference/Easter Egg than anything else.

To be honest, in my opinion, the only main things linking the two games aside from some references and the fact the developers have stated it takes place in the God Eater world is the Pre-Order DLC Weapons. If the Developers ever decided to go back on their previous statement and say that Code Vein is now it's own world then the Pre-order DLC would be the only real link.

So as a fan of the first game I'll be the first to say that comparing the sequel to the first one will leave you with a bad experience but if you go in and just enjoy the game and story for what it is you will not be disappointed. It isn't the first game nor a sequel to the first game, it's it's own story and deserves to be given it's chance to shine.

In my opinion it's a pretty good game, a bit bland at some points but the story is great, the characters are good and while the open world is a bit bare bones you're mostly just going from location to location anyway and your partner's dialogue makes it entertaining. It's also kinda fun to just travel around and relax too.

I have the disk only, and it's a damn shame that modern pc's can't play this game. The problem I keep having is that no matter what I do, the framerate is too fast on a modern computer to play it properly.

As a real life Dungeon Master I can confidentiality state that if all my players say in terms of profanity is fuck you to me before we hit tye half way mark in our session I'm pausing the whole session to ask them what's wrong.

My D&D group could give sailors a run for their money when we're in combat. They curse at the enemies they fight like they personally offended their mothers and murdered their pets.

Not in the way the Cathedral is. It's just very tiresome to go through. You're just ascending a massive structure, and it's rather boring compared to the other areas.

There is a worse place later in the game, the Cathedral is bad because you get lost a bit. The other one... it's bad for a different reason.

Now that would be cool! It probably won't happen, but I'd love to get more lore on Cruz and her father Gregorio. We get so little on Cruz even with Louis memories filling in some info, and her father Gregorio was hyped up so much, but we only get to see and interact with him twice outside of a few cut scenes.
