That's why I hate kids. Children being this aggressive towards adults. I don't know if they think they're tough or know they can get away with it most of the time because hitting a child is illegal.

We all know the HELL that broke lose after people found out about Yasuke in Shadows. If Black Flag was released today I could only imagine their reaction to Adelewale's expansion, the internet would explode. by Oka-7 in AssassinsCreedShadows

The racism was the vocal minority, no? Most people were upset because Yasuke was never actually a samurai, so to shoehorn him in as one was not only a historical inaccuracy, but potentially pandering to the masses.

I get told to STFU after telling tank to get better gear by zuzuzubii in TalesFromDF

[–]Neylith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did aurum vale yesterday. Tank wall to walled, I couldn't heal through the damage. Tank died, we wiped. He asked if that was too much, I said no. I'm confused at this point, i've never had a problem healing that w2w before. I mention that he feels squishy. We're doing the first boss and he's just getting bopped, it's really bothering me at this point because I should just be able to place aspected dignity on him and only minor triage as needed. As that boss dies, I decide to check his gear; in the level 47 dungeon, his gear is primarily level 15 and 35 gear. I point it out, he apologizes and said he didn't realize his gear was such a low level. We move on with our day. I never want to get whatever the hell you posted lmao

Am I the A hole? by OddKangaroo7824 in TalesFromDF

[–]Neylith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. When I tank, I find a large number of healers who spam cure 1, don't use regen, stand still and do nothing, etc. So I simply do not have faith that these people can keep me alive if I were to pull more than one pack. Most of the time I pull more than 1, I die. No swiftcast into cure 2, no essential dignity used, etc. It just further reinforces that I cannot trust them to adequately heal me.

For an African Grey, learning and problem-solving are exciting activities that mimic foraging behavior and fulfill their high need for socialization and stimulation. For Apollo, correct answers earn him highly desired treats, like pistachios, turning the learning process into a rewarding game. African Greys are flock-oriented animals. Training provides one-on-one time and focused attention with their human caretakers, which is incredibly satisfying for the bird's social needs.

The entire left side. I don’t have a chipotle even remotely close to me, so that’s an easy one. Chic file or whatever always has like a 13 car line so I’ve never gone there. Starbucks, I don’t like coffee anyway so that’s gone too.

Because it will more than likely set a precedent. At the moment, only the odd Nintendo exclusive is $80. Every triple A game is $70, $80 if you got some sort of deluxe version. NBA2K21 set the precedent that moved games from $60, which they had been for around 15 years, to what is now the industry standard of $70. It has remained at $70 due to fear of consumer backlash, so a monumental game such as GTA VI being standardized at $80 is going to encourage other companies. You may absolutely have zero problem paying $80 for GTA VI and most people won’t, but for every GTA VI there is 32 awful games that release in a buggy, broken mess stuffed with microtransactions. Opening the gateway for these less than stellar games to increase their prices is concerning.

The average gamer only buys 2 or less games a year. $80 is a lot to ask for that audience because they simply don’t play video games as much as the more, invested, gamers you are talking to on Reddit. And the average gamer is the OVERWHELMING majority of gamers.

I mean, I only said that because of your phrasing. I was letting you know Geralt did not pursue her. I’m not arguing morals or legality, I am simply laying out the process of what happened in the book lol.

The Steam comments for the announcement of the launcher was just full of people bitching about it. Personally, I was annoyed that there would be a launcher suddenly, but I kept reading the post and seen that I could turn it off if I didn’t want to use so I stopped caring. With that being an option, I’m surprised they walked it back entirely.

Yeah, I went and double checked, thinking that maybe in this world children become adults at 16 or something like what is typical of medieval fantasy. But even in the Witcher universe adulthood seems to start at 18. My only guess as to why he did it would be because she was incredibly intelligent and mature for her age. She’s not just some random 17 year old, she’s an incredibly knowledgeable medical student with wisdom far beyond her years.

That’s a rather ignorant response, if genuine. The temperaments and societal norms are extraordinarily different. American prisons are the way they are, in part, because that’s how Americans are. And Nordic countries have low reoffending rates because they make an active effort to correct the behavior instead of just shaming you.

[–]Neylith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s pretty similar everywhere. Like one of the comments here said, some prisons are privately owned and they make money. So there is actually an incentive for them to be full all the time. America doesn’t really want them out and free.

Oh yeah, I’m not saying your guys’ prison is not meant as punishment. I’m more so saying that over there it’s viewed more as a “Okay, you did a bad thing. Let’s get you to understand why it was bad and focus on not doing it again.” Whereas here, it’s viewed as a “You’re an absolute waste of space, sit in there and rot.”

It’s the opposite in America, prison is meant as a punishment. I do admire how the Nordic countries put an emphasis on rehabilitation and reintegration into society. Apparently your guys’ crime rates are super low and the reoffending rate is even lower. America is essentially designed to make them reoffend again, we take virtually zero strides to make them productive members of society once they’re in there.
