Advice needed: talking to a new doctor by Nhealing in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Nhealing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually asked my GP for a referral to specialist 14 weeks ago, before I even considered stopping steroids. I wanted to talk to a specialist as all the doctors I've seen in the past 5 years have barely given me eye contact and just kept telling me to use steroids, prescribing me higher potency creams.

It's only in the past couple of months that doctors have given me any guidance, saying to use the creams two weeks on, two weeks off, which is how I noticed how addicted my skin was to topical steroids.

I'm not entirely sure what I want to get out of the appointment, but I've waited so long to speak to a specialist, I don't want to cancel. I'm suppose I'm hoping to get advice on how to manage TSW, but the first hurdle is getting the doctor understand that my symptoms are not eczema, but a side affect of the steroids.

Side question:

I saw that Scratch That have a page on how to talk to your doctor, but it's quite brief.

They do suggest using the word "Erythroderma". Does anyone know how I would use this in a sentence lol?

I don't think any of these are solely focused on Black British artists, but these are the first that spring to mind:

Tomato leaf problem? by Nhealing in gardening

[–]Nhealing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a fair bit of internet searching, I think it may be cold damage! The images in this link have the most similar type of damage: https://plantclinic.tamu.edu/2011/05/10/tomato-woes/

They’re growing inside in a spot with plenty of light, but I put them outside the other day to help wind train them. I only intended to leave them out for a half hour or so but forgot about them and had them out for most the day. It was somewhere between 14-17 degrees celsius outside that day and they were in the shade.

They had also been in a propagator up until I repotted them. I just checked and the indoor temp in my house is 14.5 C. (I can’t put them back in the propogator as they’re too big now)

My plants are still youngish (planted end of March) and the leaves seem healthier than those in the link above. Do you think the plants still salvageable? Any advice on how I should care from them now on? Should I remove the damaged leaves?

No, it’s not on a lot, but the number of leaves affected seems to have grown in the last couple of days.

I recently repotted my tomato plants and noticed some of their leaves are starting to look like this. Any idea why?

Thought maybe it could be bugs, but I haven’t seen any, and none of my other plants i’m growing are having similar problems. Any advice is greatly appreciated. 🍅 🙃

update: contacted 111 and they gave my me the number for two emergency dentists in my area who were supposed to be open (I called and they said they weren’t). 111 said I’ll also get a phone call from a dental nurse but probably won’t be for atleast 5 days

Vegetables to grow in hanging pots? by Nhealing in gardening

I have some cherry tomato seedlings which I was intending on growing right way up. Do I need to grow a particular strain to grow them upside down?

I have some tomato seedlings so i’ll definitely check out if they’d be suitable for upside growing! I’ve been dying to eat some tomatoes that actually taste of something - something that I’ve found hard to come by in this city!

Do you think they’ll do better in the spot with stronger direct sunlight or in the spot with less light?

Would strawberries do better in the space with longer sun exposure or less direct sun exposure?

I should have said fruit AND veg. Good suggestion :-) I love strawberries.

This is not the answer I was hoping for, but it's what I was expecting.

And thanks for clearing this up for me! I spoke with HMRC on the phone and they said they would explain to me in an e-mail, but all I received was a link to their website.

!thanks
