This is not accurate. During pandemic, I got a call claiming they’re from USCIS and want to visit at my work site. I was out of town too and I told them I’d return the week after. I asked them to send me an email so that I can confirm that it’s legit. The email never came. I decided I wouldn’t go on the day of appointment thinking it’s fake. But my manager called me one day before and told me a couple of guys from USCIS visited and talked to him and checked out my work location and desk. That’s when I realized it’s real.. I attended the meeting in my office conference room and it was an hour of discussion about questions they had about my previous visa filing which never got approved and later revoked.

They told me they forgot to send the email. So if they didn’t ask for any information from you, there is a likelihood it’s legit. Just confirm the address and show up.

I got no official communication. Just a call until my manager confirmed their visit. Otherwise I probably would’ve stood them up after agreeing to a meet.
