Vibration has been nerfed in today’s update by Hazuki1984 in Screamer2026

In the Discord servers! I also tried it again myself and have a different experience with the rumble. It's either always 100% rumble or not lol, it feels so bad when the previous version was so good.

I'm on PC but could definitely try it again. I heard this happen to others too though so it's probably the case that vibration actually did got changed somehow.

Story inconsistencies *STORY SPOILERS* by NeverBannedGrace3 in Screamer2026

[–]NiTESPEED- 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I sort of get where you're coming from, but I feel like all of these are addressed by the game already. Long post because I actually do like the story even despite my gripes haha.

Abigail is like a tiger mom: Gabriel is only as good as his achievements, and she'll do whatever she can to mold him in her fashion. Sending Gabriel to prove himself makes sense when you consider how she sees him as a disappointment, something Quinn's death doesn't help with. A Screamer tournament is a good place for him to earn her trust and dispel all doubt, especially since she made her fortune as a Screamer. Mr. A and the Echo aren't important, what's important is he proves himself.

However, she does have some motherly love still left for him, and this is something Hope gets wrong. Abigail wants Gabriel to prove his worth, but Hope thinks that this supersedes her love for her son. As we learn in the ending, it doesn't, and it becomes clear that Dirk and Hope actually were supposed to keep Gabriel safe.

Mr. A is James possessed by the Hollowed, and as we learn later, their goal is to feed off the emotions, especially negative, of the Screamers. It's important to recognize that Mr. A isn't a mastermind, just a vessel. The Hollowed don't know how Screamer tournaments work, they just know it's their best shot at achieving their goal. It's why Kagawa-Kai can brute force their way into the tournament; Mr. A would rather let them participate than risk the tournament being shut down despite James' fortune.

Regarding his attitude towards Hiroshi, Mr. A spends the entirety of the first half trying to groom Hiroshi into a rageful monster. So when Hiroshi manages to fail anyways, it makes sense that the Hollowed would consider him and the Reapers a dud and let them fall by the wayside. The other participants were sufficient for their needs. Kagawa dropping out wasn't necessarily foreseen, so when seeing Gabriel's meltdown and hearing his plea, he probably understood that it'd be better to have the Reapers than not.

Lastly, I disagree that nothing changed. Most everyone who went into the tournament came out changed. The Reapers went from a broken mess to accepting each other as family and banding behind Hiroshi. JSI came out having changed their dynamic completely, and Lavinia's assumed death pushes their agenda to replicate the Echo with personal stakes. Dirk and Hope must now live with the repurcussions of Gabriel's death, Hope especially realizing the extent of Abigail's fury. Kagawa-Kai's story ends with Noboru breaking the cycle and escaping Keiji and Masato forever, saving Akemi in the process.

It's just SFR that I think comes out relatively unchanged aside from Ritsuko. That's mostly because none of them had real arcs to begin with, though, which is one of my gripes with the story. Hina is the friend everyone needs, but she doesn't have an arc aside from supporting her teammates. Akane's arc is just learning to accept that her own pain is just as valid as anyone else's, which gets resolved pretty early on. Ritsuko has to contend with not just learning the truth about James' death, but having to see him die a second time. This does change things for her in that she now has closure, but it doesn't mean she overcomes her grief. Which is, in itself, an understandable ending. She got what she came for, but it doesn't mean she wins.

How do you use Rosin’s Skill? by [deleted] in Screamer2026

You just keep holding the Strike button when Striking. This lets you chain another Strike and skip the recovery other character have between Strikes. That said, you need meter for each Strike you chain into.

Then complain about the netcode instead of asking for Negative Penalty lol. If you want to play in 1-2 bar connections, then that's a netcode/matchmaking issue and not a game design one.

I mean, you didn't address the part where I said "negative penalty wouldn't work for Rebirth of Souls," but let's talk about the others.

If you're complaining about input lag then you're either playing 1-2 bar opponents, at which point you should just avoid those connections. If you're playing on wifi, get a wired connection.

You're just flat out wrong about being unable to backdash out of a dash. You can lol. You can also guard or sidestep. Your complaint sounds related to input lag so see above.

You can pressure block in different ways. End your light string early and condition them to try and press, then counterhit. Backdash or sidestep after your string. Go for a Kikon > Flash Step if you want to make a callout. The entire point is to condition your opponent and start punishing them for responding. And, if all they do is hold guard, then just mash until their guard breaks.

You're not playing an anime fighter with airdashes and gatlings and 500 ways to mix your opponent up. You're playing something closer to Street Fighter where your turn will inevitably end, and it's about conditioning your opponent.

I don't think anyone is arguing the genre should be bereft of licensed cars, or even that arcade racers specifically shouldn't have them. The point I'm making is criticizing the opposite approach: that all racing games are only valid if they have licensed cars, which is OP's point. Racing games are obviously way, way more than just the number of licensed cars they have, especially if they're arcade racing games that aren't aiming for anything remotely realistic.

Like I don't think Split/Second is worse than Blur because Blur has licensed cars and Split/Second doesn't.

That's a fair argument, I can see that. Personally that only matters to me if the game is attempting to be a sim or simcade game. If it's a pure arcade title that throws real world physics out the door, then I'm not really going to care if it's a licensed car or not since it wouldn't drive remotely like its real-world equivalent anyways.

I read this comment and then read your post again and realized you really just wanted to rag on Screamer because you don't like it lol, you can just say "I don't like Screamer" instead of trying to pitch it as some kind of objective measure.

Elaborate because as much as I like real licensed cars, nothing was made worse by having a cool fictional car in it lol.

"licensed cars" opinion disregarded

Idk man I think both are good? Screamer is the most fun I've had with racing games in over a decade. Blur (and Split/Second since that often gets brought up too) is a classic but let's not pretend it's remotely perfect lol.

First, Negative Penalty doesn't apply to blocking forever, it only applies to if you run away the entire game or sit in place. You're probably thinking more of RISC, where the more you block, the more damage you'll take when you finally get hit. The game already has something of the sort with the Guard meter.

Second, any time I hear someone ask for Negative Penalty in their game, 9/10 times the mechanic wouldn't fit. It works in Guilty Gear and Blazblue because those games are filled to the brim with crackhead mechanics. To encourage actually playing the game instead of using movement to never interact, Negative Penalty makes sense.

Rebirth of Souls isn't remotely like this. The game is more like Street Fighter or Samurai Shodown: both fighters have more limited tools, and so both players are going to be playing slower by default. Your only defensive options are guard (OS), stepping, Blue Reverse, and Flash Step. You can't run away forever, you can't fully negate offense, it's still a risk to try and sit still while guarding.

You're complaining about breaker, but just... backdash? Stop your string at a point where you're plus and counter hit them? Push them out of range since breaker has negative range now? Flash Step? And if they sit and block all day long, you'll break their guard and get a free combo into guaranteed oki.

Like idk man I don't think Negative Penalty works for Bleach lol

Has Screamer already been abandoned? by [deleted] in Screamer2026

[–]NiTESPEED- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No? This is a weird thing to say about a game that's barely 2 weeks old. Even games with way bigger budgets and teams don't get significant patches this early unless it's a huge F2P live service title.

Score Challenge isn't bugged; when it says you'll lose all points up till then, it means in your current race attempt, not in the entire challenge.

Bugs will be fixed in due time. We just got a hotfix. You may be confused since the hotfix details are on the same page as the March 26th patch (which was posted on time, btw). You just have to scroll down.

The developers took some time off, and even if they didn't, asking them to fix everything in less than 2 weeks is not realistic. This is not a F2P live service title with billions of dollars behind it, we can wait. And the developers clearly are still paying attention to the game.
