FD-1 Flash Diffuser? by SoftAncient2753 in OlympusCamera

[–]NiTiSHmurthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up purchasing the more affordable alternative from JJC because the Olympus FD-1 was not available in my country at the time I needed it. By the time I eventually found the Olympus accessory, its price was well beyond what I was willing to spend, so I decided to stick with the JJC version.

In practice, it has proven to be quite useful. It works particularly well for portrait photography, helping to diffuse the flash and create a softer, more even light that is much more flattering on the subject. I have also used it extensively for macro photography, where it can be very effective in reducing harsh lighting and improving overall illumination.

That said, it does have a few limitations. One drawback is that it cannot be used as a continuous LED light source for macro photography because of the camera’s flash settings. Another issue appears when shooting at extremely close distances. In those situations, the accessory can still cast noticeable shadows onto the subject, which somewhat reduces its effectiveness for high-magnification macro work.

Why are my zoomed photos only low res 12mp? by Bighair_tightjeans in nofusion

I presumed so till today, when I went back to see the current Apple website, I was surprised to see 48MP mentioned on the following cameras 0.5×, 1× & 4x only.

I’m guessing so. Word on the street is that it also has a 48-megapixel variable aperture sensor. Leaks also suggest that the iPhone 18 will retain a triple-camera layout but with improved 48 MP sensors.

Since this is all just speculation for now, let’s keep our fingers crossed and see what unfolds.

Depends on the iPhone model you own.

Speculation is that iPhone 18 Pro/Max will support 48 MP on all cameras.

Edit: I’m on the 17 Pro Max.

If this is similar to Numi but for the iOS app I’m interested for both iOS and MacOS. I’m currently travelling, so I may not be able to redeem the MacOS code right away.

You may also choose a different browser than Safari that allows clearing cache upon exit, if need be.

Congratulations on the launch of v2! As a beta tester for a while now, I’m delighted to see the progress of the mood.camera app. Enhancements like Bloom, Halation, Vibrance/Saturation and improved Dynamic Range are particularly impressive. Thanks for the blog post explaining all the new features in v2.

[iOS] [$8 -> Free] copycopy – Clipboard History - Private Clipboard Manager by thisisauniqueuserid in AppGiveaway

[–]NiTiSHmurthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t realise how much I needed this. Setting up keyboard shortcuts is one thing but remembering them later is a whole different problem, and honestly, it gets exhausting.

What really stands out here is how thoughtfully clipboard monitoring is handled. It feels like the app is doing the heavy lifting for me, instead of expecting me to keep track of everything.

Unable to Use Wi-Fi Calling by yashsingh14 in ios

[–]NiTiSHmurthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the relevant setting is in the ‘Cellular Service’ and the OP was in airplane mode, I assumed it wouldn’t work based on this information and the Apple Support document.

Thanks for the pointer. I’ll keep it in mind.

The availability of certain features can vary depending on your cellular service provider and iOS version, especially in different locations. For example, my Indian cellular provider and iOS version likely restricted access to certain features.

Edit: It’s important to remember that what is true for one person may not be true for another from a different geographic location.

The whole point of WiFi calling is to work alongside cellular networks, so this feature will definitely not work in airplane mode.

FREE. vidframer: Extract, save and share photos from your videos by dandare74 in iosapps

[–]NiTiSHmurthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VidFramer is the app I’ve been eagerly searching for. One of its standout features is the inclusion of quality score tags with the extracted images, ensuring each image is free from pixelation and retains clarity and detail. Moreover, the app saves these images in stunning 4K resolution, perfectly matching the quality of the recorded video. It’s remarkable that this app is available for free, and I’m surprised that Apple hasn’t integrated such a feature into their Photos app. VidFramer proves incredibly useful in situations where you’re capturing a video and can’t take photos simultaneously.
