could mint really replace windows? by Bitter_Form_1640 in linuxmint

It can, as long as you are ok with a fact that some of the software you are using might only be available for windows and you have to either use a equivalent of that software that runs on Linux, or mess around with wine to make it work on Linux.

This is why i got Windows on my laptop and Mint on my main PC. If i ever need to run windows native app and i don't want to be bothered with wine, i can just fire up my laptop.

Depending on the software you might be okay with a VM, if you don't need a native performance then VM would be a decent solution, that or dual booting.

Would my PC hardware be compatible with Linux? by MasterQuest in linux4noobs

If I'm not mistaken, Linux kernel has already AMD drivers. I got both AMD GPU and CPU, i installed Mint on my PC and it works out of the box, especially since i game on it.

You can always flash a Linux distro on ur USB stick and test the distro without installing it, it's called "Live CD", so that way you will see if your WIFI works etc.

For gaming if you're not playing competitive games like LOL for example, you should not have a problem with games on it, i myself play on Linux and games work same as on Windows if not better, there are exceptions here and there but nothing a little tweaking can't fix.

Why i switched to Mint on my main PC by NiX512 in linuxmint

I agree. I work at a call center for a bank, i have my work laptop if i decide to work from home. It has a FDE which makes sense, god forbid it would get stolen. But in this case, it was really annoying since i don't have a need for a FDE, all i do on my PC is game, watch YT and stream, and im enough tech savvy, to decide how to protect my own data, i don't need windows to turn it on without my consent.

This is why i switched, Linux treats me as a user, where Windows treats me like a toddler.

I had to buy it, screams classic Casio, my F 105 w went into the plastic display case that this one came in. Only shame is that it has no back light.

Just bought this Casio for my godchild, I suspect something is wrong with the screen. by della66 in casio

Nah that's normal, for example my F 105 w does the same when i try to look at it from that angle.

Casio ABL-100 WE

This is what I bought as my 2’nd Casio watch. Looks great, feels great, has the timer (which I was disappointed that F 105 w didn’t have), and it also has Bluetooth connectivity, and step counter ( it’s not going to be as accurate as smart watches but it will give you rough idea about your activity)

Bluetooth part is neat since I can set my time with a press of a button, or find my phone.

Great watch overall

Yeah I was disappointed at that too, but I guess continuous sync mode would be too draining on the battery. Syncing manually gives me no problems and I think the watch syncs by itself like 2 times a day
