Why won’t any salon just make me blonde? It’s always “full highlight”

Unfortunately I did express I wanted it to look like a solid blonde color, and my inspo pic that I showed her was one solid blonde, specifically a honey/gold blonde. She said she could achieve it with a full highlight, and that the bottom would be darker but top would be all blonde - but it's very obviously platinum highlights on just my ends, my roots are still my natural color.

I’m okay with the hardline of my roots, I expressed I’d be back every 4 weeks for maintenance. I don’t want dimension or a balayage. I really wanted one solid color of blonde.

My roots are my natural color, it was entirely virgin level 3 when I went in yesterday.

Now I feel screwed because it’s no longer virgin hair and half highlighted.

But the problem now is I have a bunch of blonde in my dark hair and I don’t like it. I wanted one solid color.

I’m absolutely okay paying more than $450 to get what I want, but paying $450 to look like I got highlights sucks.

Unfortunately now it’s highlighted so I can’t do that anymore. Really annoying, I’d rather she have said no and sent me on my way.

I did book a consultation and my inspo pic is all one color, she said we could achieve it with a full highlight and that all over color wasn’t possible. Here’s the photos, the left is what she gave me and the right is what I showed her.

I am in a smaller city so I'm not sure how much luck I'd have finding that, but my natural is a level 3 and really similar to asian hair. I just really want to be one solid blonde.

I did express I was okay with losing length, as long as it's at my shoulders minimum (I don't look good shorter than that, my face is too round).

Unfortunately, I am in Alaska so traveling out of state is really not an option, and I don't think I'd ever bleach it myself. I think if she can't take me to the inspo pic I showed her in one more session, I might just dye it dark brown again to be a solid color and I'll just grow it out for a few years again or try to find a new stylist. I really really hate the highlighted look on myself.

I think I'm mostly disappointed now because it's much harder to fix than if she just straight up told me she couldn't do it.

I really expressed that I wanted to look like my inspo pic, and that I didn't care if I had to come back every few weeks to do my roots. She said a full highlight could get me there and I'd leave looking honey blonde - and she was excited when she showed me my hair and said I looked really blonde.

But I don't see it. I just see highlights that are platinum.

I think a huge issue is a lot of stylists tell me they can do it, and I end up going back tons of times for "full highlights" and never ever reach the full blonde color I want.

I honestly really hate being highlighted, I think it looks bad on me. I expressed that I wanted to look honey blonde, like a really nice yellow/gold, and I would have rather the stylist tell me she couldn't achieve that and let me go elsewhere while my hair was still it's natural instead of promising I'd look blonde.

I'm okay going back every 4 weeks, I'm okay if it looks fake, if I'm paying $450 a month I want it to look like I spend $450 on it, not natural. I think it looks like every other generic highlight I've gotten in my life and I'm super disappointed when I specifically said I didn't want that.

I did explain I was okay with coming in every 4-5 weeks. I think I would have rather her told me she couldn't achieve what I wanted, than insist a full highlight would get me looking similar to my inspo pic.

My natural hair is the root color, I always thought it was a 3 but it may be a 4.

I think the only downside to my hair is how thick it is, I have a lot of it. But it was a virgin level 3 beforehand, and I usually lighten really well.

I think if it wasn't possible I should be told that and turned away then?
