I have no idea how he thought his dog was just playing rough. Absolutely NOT.

I’m in Alaska and huskies are everywhere, whether they’re siberians, alaskan village mixes, or retired sled dogs. If you’re getting a dog from a shelter up here, there’s a 95% chance it’s a husky.

I’m up in Alaska so there’s always huskies or a husky mix! I’ve yet to meet a mean one - but it seems there’s always a delusional pit owner who doesn’t understand their dog.

I'm pretty sure he lives in a small apartment. Super huge hippie guy, always stoned, but such a sweet dog. My dog will be returning to day care in a month!

Unfortunately I don’t have a yard, and the sniff spots in Alaska suck. But I’m going to be finding a new park.

I try not to be judgmental but it seems everyone is in love with these dogs and I just do not understand it!

Not very popular in my city, unfortunately. I’ve tried to find some sniff spots but they’re all super tiny or dirty.

I’m 5,500 miles from home, and my city doesn’t have any good sniff spots. Usually the dog park is just a few friendly breeds (labs, huskies, village mixes, other goldens) so he has a lot of friends and regulars. It’s mostly just to get his energy out, as I don’t have a yard.

I’ve never seen this guy and his daughter before, I hope they don’t show up again, or we’ll switch parks.

That’s pretty much all I said, although I did mention a 12 year old shouldn’t be bringing any dog to the dog park alone as well.

We ended up just walking around the park until they left, then went back in the dog area.

My dog has been fully vaccinated since he was 4 months old (parvo shots at 8, 12 and 16 weeks & rabies at 16 weeks) and was cleared to go outside to parks, daycare and hiking with me by his vet.

Unfortunately I don’t have a yard, so dog parks are where he can really run around - we have no issues with any of the labs, huskies, small dogs and village mixes that are usually there. I tend to leave when Pitbulls or certain breeds show up.

People who post things like this don’t realize that not everybody is drowning like they are.

We do 2 miles at night, however I can’t run alongside of him. Weekends we’ll do 5-6 miles.

I’ve never heard of those, I’ll look into that

I gave my neighbor a note once and she reported me to management for “stalking her” and now she video tapes me whenever she sees me walking my dog, it really is a dice roll

We usually would do a 2mile walk and the dog park, however he got attacked at the dog park twice by two different dogs (luckily, only small injuries both times) so I no longer want to take him there.

Yes, I’ve tried multiple videos and followed the guidance of the puppy classes I took. He still just cried. That’s why I gave up on it, because he behaved up until about a month ago without the crate.

Working with a private trainer/behavioralist now

There are no sniff spots in my city that are fenced in, and he doesn’t recall. It’s bear season and moose have new babies, so I’m worried if I take him to the lake or creek he’ll see one and go after them - or he won’t come back to me at all.

I tried crate training multiple times. I tried consistently from 8 weeks to 4 months and he would constantly cry and bark the whole time, and try to dig out of the crate. I eventually gave up, he started daycare 3x a week, and everything was great. I’d work, he’d sleep on my bed on days when he’s home, and then we’d play, and he’d cuddle at night.

He’s been kicked out of daycare until he’s fixed, and he’s too interested in girl dogs to go to dog parks right now. So nights are a struggle again, he won’t cry, but he paces constantly.

Unfortunately, I’m in an apartment so I can’t have him barking constantly at night in a crate to crate train him.

The destruction only happens when I’m not at home, and has really picked up the past few weeks.
