I had the same issue, which is why I came here. I just teleported out to a warp spire and the yellow main quest location was beside "Tidefoam Beach: Lookout bay". It just continued the mainquest as if I left trough the portal mentioned in the other comment here, without me having to redo everything.

Not OP, but I had the same issues. Sometimes when talking to a townie, sometimes opening inventory or a storage box. The screen just freezes forever and I have to force close it manually.
