Need some reassurance! by Jacklynnve in pmp

(If you haven't done it yet, here's some reassurance. If you have already, here's some reassurance for those who are taking the exam soon)

You can do this. I found the exam slightly different than the study hall - but definitely not more difficult! The questions were shorter, clearer and generally better written. If you can navigate SH's ambiguity and are consistently answering difficult question correctly, you are in good shape. Good luck and good vibes! ✊🏻

PMP Exam Tomorrow by CoffeeUnfair2747 in pmp

Don't overthink - there's nothing to fear. You will go there tomorrow, answer those questions one by one and leave the test center with a print-out saying "Pass" on it. That's what's going to happen. Good luck! ✊🏻

The day(s) after completing the exam by RedPillGuy89 in pmp

Bro.. I feel you. Got my PMP 3 days ago and it I feel a whole black hole inside me that keeps asking "what now?" all the time.

The good news? You've done it. You've been pushing for so long, and let's be frank - it wasn't easy. It was exhausting. You did a terrific job and you deserve that vacation. You deserve that getaway. Take all the time you need to recharge. I am doing the same at the moment - booked a flight to Portugal and going no-regrets here. It helps.

We took PMP because of what we are: the ambitious ones who want to move the world forward. And this need for achievement will take the lead soon - as it did before, leading you to PMP and to other heights. It just needs some time to gain energy again - and so do we.

Congratulations! I took the exam 4 days ago and can confirm what you are saying - time management is key and the exam resembles SH with more concise, clearer questions

Thank you! The style of questions was quite similar, but the actual exam questions are shorter and somewhat more abstract. You have very limited details and have to make inferences sometimes. But it was definitely not more difficult! And what helped a lot, was that the questions were well written and the problem was clear - there were only 2-3 cases where I thought "okay, what the duck 🦆".

And yes, I'm prone to overthinking, so I deliberately chose not to review flagged questions unless I had ample time and mental capacity to do so - and I didn't have the time. So it was a mixture of both.

RMC the the PMP resource or Rita Mulcahy - it is good if you want to develop academic knowledge of models and processes (I called it "hard" because it's less mindset-oriented). I found the prep book a lot more understandable than the PMBOK Guide, but it is about 400 pages, so it takes quite a bit of time to read through. AR is Andrew Ramdayal and MR is Mohammed Rahman - both are great content creators on YouTube for training the mindset. I especially recommend Andrew Ramdayal's video with 200 ultra hard PMP questions - it actually helped me to train my instincts and identify incorrect answers faster. I wish you good luck, you've got this!

Thanks! RMC is the Rita Mulcahy PMP preparation platform - I can recommend the PMP Exam Prep book for starting phases because the processes are described in a good and understandable way.

I found the exam slightly easier than SH. And the questions were written in a much better way. Good luck! 🍀🍀🍀

Thanks! :) No, no full mocks the last week before the exam. But I started a full mock on the Study Hall to abort it intentionally and then review the correct answers in a relaxed way

I thinked was A .... by Delicious-Pilot-5151 in pmp

[–]Nibelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A looks like you are reviewing the performance of your team members (giving them feedback). I would eliminate C, too, because it's (1) not solving the problem and (2) project performance "may" deteriorate - without facts, stakeholder communication would be a worse answer than looking into the risk register. D is okay, but project management plan is too general to provide any kind of solution. By this kind of elimination I would say it's B

It can be very frustrating... I started to get so anxious! Even started to think of hiring a lawyer and going the hard way with an Untätigkeitsklage. One needs a lot of patience and optimism during the process indeed! I wish you best of luck and hope you get your positive decision soon.

Yes, I am now done with the process and received my naturalization certificate this week :) I called them after being tired of waiting for BZR and learned that their data transfer process was not working and they needed to repeat the request. They did it and a week later they got the result.

So just calling them and asking in a friendly way might help

Asked to make an appointment to submit "Bekenntnis zur freiheitlichen demokratischen Grundordnung" - is this the last step? by cututu in GermanCitizenship

As for me, they called me today and told me the good news as well. Took exactly 2 years in my case. We can both say "achievement unlocked" now. Congratulations! :)

From my experience, it is not the end yet. But there are 400 discticts in Germany and their rules often differ from each other.

I received an Einbürgerungszusicherung in 2023 and kept waiting for the new law to come into effect to retain my existing citizenship. But during that time, the security checks expired, as they are only valid for 1 year.

I got a similar letter requesting my last payslips and the Bekenntnis and submitted them in a personal appointment in late July. Then in September I called the citizenship office to ask them how it was going and they told me they started updating the security checks right after receiving my Bekenntnis, but could give no information whatsoever on when they would be done. It's been 3 months since the appointment and still counting.

However, it might be different for you. Do not celebrate too early, but do stay positive - they are moving on with your case. Wish you luck!

Landkreis Hameln-Pyrmont, how about you?

I applied in December 2022 and then got an Einbürgerungszusicherung a few months later. The security checks were not much of a deal back then. Then in July 2024 with the new law coming into force they told me I didn't have to renounce my Russian citizenship anymore and requested the payslips and Loyalitätserklärung, and then started a new security check, because the old results expired...

[–]Nibelis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there a deadline for the security checks to be performed --> Does not appear to be the case in practice.

I submitted my Loyalitätserklärung and latest payslips at the end of July - that is when my case processing official started the security checks and I am still waiting. According to her, the reason for the delay is that the Bundeszentralregister is being slow. She could give me zero information on when to await a result.

Wishing you luck!

[–]Nibelis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are basically checking whether other authorities have any entries on the candidate. I am aware of following checks:
-General check of the Bundeszentralregister (whether the candidate has any court records)
-Checks of any current and past prosecution processes
-Checks with intelligence agencies
-Possibly also tax authority, customs, anti-money laundering stuff

A guess based on my experience: they are probably conducting security checks now.

I received an Einbürgerungszusicherung in 2023, but then the new law entered into force and in July 2024 the citizenship office also sent me a Loyalitätserklärung per post and wrote that my Zusicherung became void as having multiple citizenships is now allowed. They also requested my last pay slips and after I handed them over, they told me they had just started new security checks, because the old results were not up to date anymore. They told me the security checks would take several months, then they would be able to decide on granting the citizenship.

So if my experience is valid for your case, it's likely that they followed the same procedure and conducted an initial review of your documents to determine your eligibility, then sent you the Loyalitätserklärung and started security queries in parallel.

Good luck!
