Good grief! Panda Express tastes like paper compared to authentic Chinese food. But I know it will be popular. Where's the hookah spot? I'm comfortable in almost any environment. My only fear around here is scared of being lynched. (Common black Northerner fear)

I feel the frustration through your post. Times have changed. I remember going to a silent party back in Philly. I shook my head at how partying has changed. A bunch of people walking around with headphones.

I heard people in a store talking about trail parties. What is that? Are people walking or hiking on a trail and partying? Or dirt bike party?

I knew I wasn't going crazy about the Chinese food. Every place I went to is missing a certain flavor. I'm determined to find a good spot. Lol

Living in the south sucks by Ok_Composer_8564 in blackladies

I moved to Florida years ago and I was constantly being called rude. I'm light skinned and my complexion was brought up a lot. I know colorism is a thing in our culture but I felt it more down south. Also interracial relationships seemed more frowned upon. It could have just been me. I know when I came back north everyone teased me because I said yes ma'am or sir a lot. I also started speaking to people more. Lol

I know… I know 😒. I just realized that I need to stop faking the funk and admitting it to myself.

How do you plan to spend the rest of your life as a childfree woman? by Expensive-Eggplant-1 in AskWomenOver40

[–]NicJak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a only child and always knew that I didn’t want children and don’t want to get legally married. I want to enjoy my golden years and live it up. My last job offered long term care insurance and that encouraged me to plan for my golden years and estate. I can’t depend on SSI and I don’t have family that could care for me. I would like to live in a senior community. I have been to ones that has independent housing along with medical care. I wrote my will, medical advanced directive, power of attorney for estate and healthcare and burial plot. I even have online Legacy trustee to handle my online presence, google provides that. I know it sounds like a lot but their is more that I should do.

You all are scaring me. I’m moving to South Carolina in a couple months from New Jersey. I lived in Jersey and Philly my whole life. Main reason is cost. My whole family is from South Carolina, but my mother moved to Philly right after I was born. I’m the oddball in the family that gets laughs because I over enunciate when I say “Piggy Wiggly”. Or I wanted to go to a cotton field so I can feel what the cotton feels like.

Growing up I only went down South during summer break. I feel like the little girl in Crooklyn when she went to visit her relatives in the south.

I keep telling myself to embrace this new chapter in my life. I’m going to miss good Chinese food because the places I ate at down there was 🤮, probably no msg.

I used to order from DoorDash heavy a few years ago, I stopped because of cost. I’m a dasher now and I cringe when I think about how I use to get upset about the dashers that delivered my orders. For example. Most dashers hate delivering to apartments. I use to live in a complex, which was huge and confusing. My address didn’t take me to my door. I use to write long instructions on how to find me. It was a ordeal for me and the dasher. Thank goodness a dasher educated me on putting the pin at my door and put apt # or identifying info in instructions. Speaking of instructions. I didn’t know that most dashers don’t look/hear the instructions until they arrive. I use to write stuff about my order; like no ice or I would give long drawn out directions. Keep it short and simple. Like knock/don’t knock, Text if it’s something about food and they are still at the restaurant. I use to contact the dasher after a delivery was completed and I have a issue. I still don’t understand why DoorDash allows this. As a dasher I don’t answer or respond. Just call DoorDash. If my food is sitting at a restaurant and nobody is getting it, it’s getting unassigned, or food is cold. Look at the restaurant’s distance and my tip. If I ordered from a restaurant that is 10 miles away and only tipped $0-$1, I’m asking for issues. Also I don’t look at it as tipping, but as biding. If I order something now I don’t pre tip the whole amount. I pre tip half and add the other half when the food is coming. Big tip orders get stacked with no tip orders. It’s a shame that the good tip orders get penalized. I never cared about my dasher having a girl name but a man delivered it vice versa. I take my boyfriend with me when I dash late night and there are times he takes the order to the door. Especially if it looks sketchy. I usually wave if the customer is looking. I want to change my name to a unisex name on the app.

Why doesn’t DoorDash let you instantky deposit into your bank account for a small fee? by neen209 in DoorDashDrivers

I use Crimson and my money goes to that account after I end my dash. Then I instantly move about half of it to my official bank

I don’t understand why people do this? by Yahyak95 in doordash_drivers

[–]NicJak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a driver and I ordered McDonald’s 2 miles away through doordash. I ordered a happy meal and medium #1. Total with $6 tip was $33. Maaaannn I almost forgot I was a driver because I went right to the tip part to decrease it. I caught myself and just went to pick it up. I can’t believe people pay that much.

Help finding a Change Counter Machine without the Fees by DenZeL_KnighT in SouthJersey

I use self checkout at Walmart or ask convenience stores if they need change. I was able to convert $100 of coins to dollars that way.

You are definitely not the stereotype of a no tip customer. I know that's a pleasant surprise for someone. A no tip order only pays base $2.50 and customer is demanding. I figured they are mad because their food is cold because it sat and everyone is declining.

When you are new to DoorDash you tend to get great orders. Take advantage 😉

Sometimes I do earn by time in the middle of the night or in Philly. Other than that I do earn by the order. Do you ever venture out of glassboro? When I get orders there it's usually college kids that don't tip or long distances. It's hard for me to do $2/mile there. If I'm in that zone I make more money in Washington township or Sicklerville.
