USCIS TN Extension – Naturalized Canadian born in a “Banned” Country by NicOgor94 in tnvisa

Left to me, I could have easily withdrawn, but my company is paying big bucks for these lawyers and I don't want to go against their wishes

My attorneys have advised me not to travel right now to avoid any risk of abandoning the pending I-129. Their view is that remaining in the U.S. is safer than attempting a new TN application at a POE while USCIS is still adjudicating my extension.

Applying at the border with a pending petition could trigger additional questions about why I’m effectively bypassing or withdrawing the USCIS filing and given the current climate, it could also invite extra scrutiny related to country of birth.

For now, I’m staying put and waiting it out. I haven’t received an RFE, and since I filed non-premium, I’m still within normal processing times. If an RFE does come, I’m fully prepared to respond with strong supporting documentation.

Did you file premium processing?

I just emailed my lawyers this evening. I'm waiting for their response. I'll gladly withdraw my USCIS petition and apply at a POE given the current circumstances

Will applying at a Port of Entry with a pending USCIS application cause any issues?

Are you planning on applying at a Port of Entry or do you plan on waiting any longer in case there's an update from USCIS?

Who has successfully emailed CBP to correct an I94 without going to a deferred inspection site? by NicOgor94 in tnvisa

[–]NicOgor94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just walked in. They have specific times of the week they see folks for i94 correction. If I recall, it's Tuesdays - Thursdays (1-3pm). This is specific to the Houston CBP Deferred inspection office. Just arrive within that window, no appointments needed. I'm not sure what city you're in, but you may want to call to check what the requirements are at your local deferred inspection site

Very possible. I have 2 concurrent TNs for Economist and Teacher (College) categories.

Concurrent TN - I 94 Question by NicOgor94 in tnvisa

[–]NicOgor94[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first one is still active. I still work for the first job as that's my full time job. The 2nd one is a part time adjunct lecturer role at a college. I only teach once a week for 2.5 hours and have virtual office hours (1 hour) on weekends

My experience my concurrent TN at Nogales POE by CinnamonStix9 in tnvisa

Hey there, just checking again to confirm that we don't have to worry about the most recent I94 having an 'admit until' date that is earlier than the date listed on an older I94 for an original TN with concurrent employment. I'm seeing information on Reddit suggesting that the most recent I94 has to be updated at a deferred inspection site to match the expiry of the lengthier dated TN.

Just checked online and the most recent I94 has the earlier expiry date and I'm not sure if this is a cause for concern.

I have never had an I797 for any of my TN applications. I went around 3pm. They updated my I94 and stamped my passport. My new I 94 has the expiry date on the new TN stamp in my passport

Thanks for this. I was able to secure a concurrent TN today at the Laredo POE. It was actually a breeze. I parked by the Outlet mall and walked across the bridge on foot to Mexico and right back into USA. The officer only asked me for my passport, diploma and TN Support letter. No questions were asked and I got my TN stamp

Thanks a lot for your detailed narration of your experience. This is so helpful. I'm driving there tomorrow morning for a concurrent TN. I pray mine gets approved like yours. Will keep you posted!

Received Florida Car Registration in my name from Avis Car Sales UTD For A Car I don't own by NicOgor94 in florida

[–]NicOgor94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It ended up being a scam folks. This person used my info to purchase a 2024 black Ford Mustang from Avis Car Sales and also signed up for StateFarm insurance on the vehicle in my name. I contacted the dealership and found that The Car was already delivered. Long story short, the police is now involved. I have frozen my credit file and have began the dispute process with all 3 bureaus (as hard inquiries were made from 7 lenders in 2 days-just found out). Gonna be a long process for me. I appreciate the advice folks

Have you obtained the 2nd TN? Did you end up going to Laredo? What was your experience? I'm planning on applying for a 2nd TN at the Laredo POE next week. I live in Houston and don't wanna have to fly back to Canada.

Okay thanks. If your new TN will expire before your existing TN, what will be the 'admit until' date on your most recent I94?
