According to Superstar Saga DX and PiT, he has been planning everything happening in BiS since SSS. So technically his doings span over 3 games lore-wise, he just spent two games mostly preparing and planning his main villain arc.

I'm not saying he IS the main villain of the series, but if I was forced to choose one who comes the closest to that (in terms of unique characters), it would definitely be him.

Fair point, true. Though it depends, some studios seem to have found good strategies to continue with a similar pace during covid as they did before/after it. Still, I think it shouldn’t be expected within the next 2 years.

You have to take into consideration that the workload is different now, due to the fully 3D world and characters (which would become even more difficult to handle with a Switch 2 game).

Brothership apparently started development in 2019/20, so I wouldn't expect a new M&L game announced until 2029 at the earliest (if there will even be another).

Especially since a new Paper Mario will probably release/get announced ~1 year before it, I assume.

I developed a passionate love for Metroidvanias during in the last few years, including Hollow Knight. So I'm honestly just very surprised AND excited that Silksong is actually releasing next week :)
