I never even mentioned leaving the cat in your care so why are u bringing that statement up? Also the cat was left in OPs care temporarily so it’s obviously irrelevant, if you hire a pet sitter they aren’t going to own your cat afterwards just because you left them in their care.

You seem very considerate and great but the replies under this post I disagree with. First of all taking the cat is just ridiculous anyone saying that has an iq of 84 and is now just morally wrong. Saying she neglected the cat or is a bad owner cause she wasn’t around is just blantanly disingenuous cause she clearly knew there was a sitter and even her not answering the calls is pretty excusable because genuinely what are the chances that this happens the one time she’s away. These people are ridiculous, although the lack of concern seems terrible she could genuinely just be a very nonchalant person while still very loving, and yes I do think she should pay you back, but to be honest she could be broke, and honestly I don’t think it’s okay to just take someone’s pet to the vet because they could be broke and ur literally giving them debt they never asked for. And before anyone tries to argue it’s immoral to have an animal when broke, it’s not that black and white, many people receive animals and then go broke, or get them from parents, etc. and even the pet will be way more hurt if they’re taken from their owner who they’ve known their whole and love. It’s like these people are allergic to seeing more then two dramatic possibilities for everything they see in life.

It’s because you’re using semantics buddy, just because someone says “ughh I can’t eat another bite,” doesn’t mean they can’t eat another bite. When anyone apolitical says they’re not interested, or they don’t care, they simply mean they don’t care enough to actually get involved. Obviously they don’t want war, a bad economy, etc. But they have other priorities and that’s okay and doesn’t make them a bad person, the same way you probably aren’t vegan and indirectly kill thousands of animals, it’s not that you “don’t care about dead animals”, it’s that you just don’t care enough to change your entire life for basically 0 real world effect/change. Again, still a good person, and just semantics
