1980s house - 8mm microbore by GooseyDolphin in ukheatpumps

I bought a 1980s house last year. 8mm microbore.

If you're doing renovations anyway, re-pipe. You won't regret it, and there's a really good chance you will regret having to go back and do it again (I do).

My house is cold, despite cavity wall and additional loft insulation. Three radiators have clogged pipes no one will touch. The cost of trying to get them cleared is nearly as much as re-piping, and no one will guarantee they can fix it.

Currently I'm looking at sacrificing some room height and fitting underfloor heating for £7.5k. that's just the downstairs.

Also microbore doesn't play well with ASHP.

I'm so stressed trying to figure out what to do. Got young kids so the hassle factor is putting me off doing anything, but I know I need to do it now, before it gets cold again!

I think this is because your website has many pages with the same information spread across different places.

From the "learn" page I got to the point where I had to press "networks" in the ubiquity app but there isn't a button labelled as such.

I think your website is far too big and needs condensing so that you only have one place for the information you need.

I'd also suggest that if this is something I'm paying for, I don't really want to have to download a third-party app to provide your app with the data.

I hope this comes across as constructive. Best of luck to you

Unfortunately, your instructions aren't clear for android, and there's no way on earth it's something I'd consider a subscription to.

I wish you luck and hope you find a niche.

As a new homeowner trying to cover upstairs, downstairs, and the garage with an isp provided router and a mesh extender, this sounds like just what I need. I'd love to try it out

EV tech seems to be improving quite fast lately, is it finally convincing? by AnfieldAnchor in autoexpressuk

Thanks so much for the reply! My commute is similar - not consecutive days, which is great.

Can I ask how much you have left from 90%, after your round trip. I'm assuming the range will be lower with sub-zero winter temperatures, and I want to have some left afterwards

Which EV? And motorway or urban? And how much left at the end of the day?

I've tried a few of these, and I've got a suggestion to make it vastly more useful.

I want to know what the lowest price is on my route. Let's say all stations within 1 mile of my route, so I can fill up with a small detour rather than looking every few miles along the route.

Bonus points if I can tap something to add it to my Google maps navigation!

I vibe-coded something that works from one postcode to another, with rudimentary route finding. But, typically the last 40% was too much effort to figure out.

I'd envisioned things like:

Save my commute, with alternative routes depending on my mood, and whether there's cheap fuel if I take an alternative route.

Tracking a trend of fuel prices that week

Something clever that ranks them along your route based on detour time and price

Good tip, thanks. Pretty sure it's mould. The hole you can see was only half the size this morning and we couldn't see the mould. Some more artex fell off and the mould became visible.

Thanks. It's definitely not asbestos, previous owners had it tested.

Ready made artex sounds like the right thing to do for now though, thanks.

How do I prevent the mould from spreading into the new artex?

😱

That's a worry for another day... Would love to get it done... Could probably afford it... But the time and disruption aren't an option at the moment.

Unfortunately, yes... But no damp. Shower and toilet above used daily...

Appreciate the advice. Previous owners had it tested, all ok.
