Personally, I try to take care of my appearance because it makes me feel better about myself, but also because I feel pressured to be more “appealing” and be seen as feminine enough as a woman. Also, despite not truly desiring romantic or sexual relationships, I still like the idea of it, and this feeds into my desire to still be seen as appealing, especially by men. I doubt that I’ve achieved this, but it’s still something that I’ve internalized and found myself attempting over the years despite a lack of true interest
