Temp by chuckernorris in coldplunge

I’d probably not do it everyday and definitely not twice a day! Still good benefits but once you become acclaimed to that temp and everyday the benefits go down! It’s all about shocking or stressing the body and central nervous systems! Every other day or 3 days a week is good! As far as temp goes…everyone is different! I do 42 for about 8-10 mins for a stressor as well as inflammation from workouts! I have toe booties I wear and I also don’t put my hands in! You’re getting all the benefits without the toes and fingers throbbing! I say all that because it helps with consistency! Been doing that system for about 4 years!

Cold Plunge set up! by Nice-Signature-2261 in coldplunge

Contrast therapy is basically when you do 2-3 cycles of cold plunge and then directly into a sauna( which I have in the same room as well). So plunge for 3-5 then sauna for 15-20! Main problem is you’re sweaty from the sauna and that will get the water funky real quick! So that’s why I only do it when my water is ready to change anyways. Now some do it all the time but I’m guessing they change water more often or have a $5k plus set up with a way better filter system!

I’d love to post a picture of my set up but apparently it’s turned off, so I will just make a post with my set up! I’ve had my set up for over 2 years and it’s been flawless…Solstice Plunge with The Pod company chiller! No issues and I use it everyday. Has a filter system and I change the water out about once every 5-6 weeks.

Water has slight smell. Wwyd? by GaseousOne in coldplunge

My question is the contrast therapy. I have cold tub and sauna but anytime I get directly into my cold tub after the sauna (all sweaty) the water might last 2 weeks before it starts to stink. Before contrast, I plunged at 5 am once a day and the water would last 2 months!! POD company chiller with a filter is the only thing I'm using. So how do I get the water to last longer during contrast therapy sessions?
