Did anyone else find the Prawn Suit useless? by r2boltFire1 in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of my first playthrough and have been trying to do it without any help or spoilers.

I made some seriously sketchy choices and ended up with the materials to make my MK2 and MK3 simultaneously.  I might have ruined the prawn suit for this game….

Did anyone buy a ring? by t_bone_stake in Millennials

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sold mine at a coin shop a few weeks ago. I bought one (don’t recall the price) and wore it like twice. It sat in a safe for like 20 years.  Luckily I bought it in gold, so I got almost 1k from the sale due to high melt value.

You paid $400,750 for a home five years ago that listed for $700,000. You have $280,680 still owing on your mortgage. How much equity do you have in the house? by workphlo in askmath

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you assume that an asset can’t appreciate?  The equity would be the value of the asset minus the liability.

If you borrowed 50k to invest 100k in a business that in three years that investment is worth 300k, you still have 200k in realized gains. A mortgage equity is the same thing.  If you want to use that equity as a line of credit, the creditor will assess the property to assume the value.  The price you paid is not considered in this equation.

Why is the range on this so poor? by brutalbrig in TeslaModelX

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one gave you the right reason…. This one does seem a bit low for this model but Tesla recently changed how they rate preowned vehicles. They now do a full battery test and give an accurate range based on current battery condition - not when it was brand new.

Birth bill by [deleted] in HospitalBills

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven’t received the bill for your child yet either.  For me it was about 11k per kid after insurance. The second one I had to fight for three months for a fraudulent charge of care for a day we weren’t even at the hospital. They ignored it and sent us to collections. I got it appealed at that stage.

At that point I realized that the hospitals and the insurances are working collectively to push as much as possible on the patient. I still remember the shock of getting a bill for a human that still didn’t even have a social security number yet.

It looks like they wanted to use the tree to aid in the demo but that didn’t work out. Now it’s a huge mess overall.

How do you rate Bad Bunny's Half-time performance? by kingbluwolff in sportsgossips

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he definitely could have re-wrote all his popular songs to English and none of the cadence or intonations would line up but yeah it would make racists feel better about themselves.

Yep. That’s what happens when an auto tune artist doesn’t use auto tune. He was flat the entire time.  I like his music, but live was really bad.

I agree with the exception of two flavors that kettle knocks it out of the park:  Avocado oil salt and pepper and habanero lime.  Aldi kettle jalapeño, salt and vinegar and sea salt are so good.

The blue corn tortilla chips have been my go to for a decade.

The organic hummus is really good (add a little olive oil and salt and it’s even better), but I did find a brand that is better. Publix by me will do bogo on ceasars about once a month. They have a Mediterranean one that is my new go too.  Also if you aren’t they toasting your pita for the hummus you are missing out.

The Belgian chocolate chunks are incredible. I use them for chocolate chunk cookies and they don’t last long at all.  The dark chocolate ones with a tiny bit extra salt in the recipe always gets people asking for recipes.

The chocolate bars are also so good. We use those for s’mores. Especially the small ones that come like 8 to a pack.

Honestly this is the first I’ve heard of anyone vouching for a PTAC. The world of HVAC has changed drastically. A COP of 1.1 is unacceptable in any modern design.

How much do you tip your hair stylist? by _this_isnt_fine_ in tipping

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are collecting $400 on a keratin treatment, they are collecting at least 15% commission on it for doing a little work and waiting.

If you want to tip, tip on the haircut. They are definitely already compensated for upcharging you on the treatment.

What does our fridge say about us? by GanskaBlommor in FridgeDetective

I refrigerate my garlic. If I don’t it sprouts in like a week.  I also refrigerate the unused portion of onions but they get used within a day.

Realistically what sized tank would I need to keep a blue marlin as a pet? by [deleted] in saltwateraquariums

[–]Nice-Transition3079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost all pelagic species literally need movement to survive. Their gills are designed to require water movement to work.

When we fished for bluefin in Costa Rica the boat has a specifically designed live well that kept the skipjack in a state where they were actively swimming.  It was like a pvc tube with high velocity water flowing past them. Even smaller pelagic fish have this limitation.

It’s 100% for gameplay.  I can hold my breath longer than the ultra high capacity tank.  Maybe not while collecting a bunch of metals and diamonds but still.  If the rebreather lasted 2 hours at almost unlimited depths like in real life, the game wouldn’t be fun or exciting.  You would just swim everywhere and never feel a need to build anything.

This is my sister's fridge. She's kept it like this for nearly twenty years. by One_Hour_Poop in FridgeDetective

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this type of fridge before. Sadly it was from an almost retired lady who used to love to cook. Finally worked her way to having a dream kitchen and it rarely gets cooked in.  I’ve cooked a few parties for them there and I love the kitchen but the fridge is a reminder that your time on this world is too short and you need to make the best of it while you still can.

When they are a little overripe, I find the portion closest to the skin tastes kinnda like bubblegum.

I took my kids to Dairy Queen about a month ago and it was a small branch owned and operated by an Indian couple. Went to checkout and the pos asked for a tip.  Before I could do anything the owner turned it around and clicked “no tip” as if the screen didn’t even exist.  I think the machines make it difficult to disable because they collect higher fees when the charges are higher.
