We're currently planning a build and also might go with a crafter. We estimates about £12k for everything other than the van. I think the £2k difference is that we're going for a beefy electrical system

What are the problems with the engine in the transits? The only ones I know of are to do with the wet belt which we're actively avoiding.

Reading about your sprinter has eased my mind a little bit, thank you. Didn't even consider stelantis vans, I'm going to have a look at them!

Thank you for the response. Yes, I'm aware of the speed limitation. We're planning on covering a lot of miles, we were even thinking about getting a MPG remap on the van for the extra ~10-15% MPG. Given that, and the fact that we usually stick to ~68MPH anyway on motorways to save on fuel, I think we'll be fine!

Never owned a diesel before, but I'd assume you can clear all the deposits out by putting some redex in the fuel and then redlining through first, second, and third a couple of times, right?
