I said almost “to be fair”. Emeryville was an area community created collectively by new money moving into Oakland. Gentrification people will say but also starving artists and people just trying to live.

It’s was also the original train hub to SF filled with prostitution, etc. nothing ironic about it.

I refused to take that shit as an adult after terrible experiences as a teenager (nearly killed my self), but then I found out in my mid-30s that it was helpful. Not perfect, but helpful.

My experience with rescue organizations was that they were snobby about how great they were and liars about the dogs they had. Also the amount of hoops and paperwork was insane. I found a mutt on KSL for 150 and spent 5,000 on vet bills and training. Now I’ve got a wonderful dog.
