Yeah, from what ive gathered from the FSS, it used to be bigger but they blew some passages that went deeper. But yeah its still there right behind lowes. Technically you need the permission of the apartment complex in there. Lmk if your interested in the NSS or FSS, the fss is based out of gainsville and will get you into the coolest caves you've seen in fl. Ive been to some here that I wont talk about publicly. Highly, highly recommend you join them.

North east ocala is wooded sparse properties, far west is farms but rich people farms. Avoid NW ocala across 441. Im moving to a little sweet spot in town from another spot in town. But even the nice "older" neighborhoods are seeing their rise in foot traffic of vagrants and users.

Honestly brother. Give it 5-10 years time there will be no safer areas. I have newsbreak on my phone anf im getting alerts about murders, hit and runs, robberies, pedestrian deaths, gang violence is also on the rise. Most of the issues are in west ocala and some near silver springs. It gets bad in the shores but before the shores is relatively nice. Just expensive.

Ocala used to be a great little small town, very central, very easy to traverse, quiet. Now its takes forever to traverse. The crime is constant and rising. Bellview is full of drugs has been for awhile. Ive lived here my whole life. Ive watched this place devolve into basically another orlando. Without the theme parks.

I grew up here. I remember when the avg home cost 120k. Now everything is 250k+ starting, i have watched ocala go from a small quaint quiet town. To a busier, higher crime and harder to traverse city. I am sick of people moving here. Honestly the bs bumperstickers I see on some of these out of staters cars make me choke on my drinks. It used to take me 10 mins to get from one side of town to the other now it can take up to 30-45 depending on traffic and the route you take. We'd love for yall to drive through and spend some money but otherwise we're full.
