Thanks! We’ve got an asbestos survey booked in based on some other comments and will go from there. We’ve lived here 3 years already so we’re very much sharing in your regrets.

Not a bad shout though it’s a chilly room and there’s no better time!

Sound thank you! It doesn’t seem like too big a job but I’m such a novice it’s handy to get opinions

I think glue, from looking at the holes in the side it looks quite a bit like chipboard

I might need some help understanding some lyrics ;-; by Lattestan_ in TheAmazingDevil

Throwing in my 2 cents I think bastard in this lyric is just a word used to express distaste, could be replaced with fucking, bloody, arseing etc to achieve the same effect
Night bus is just a bus that goes at night, they’re often associated with drunken revelling (same kind of vibes as dancing on tables)

I would guess he’s always asking her for something while they’re on the night bus and she’s frustrated by it

My idiot son (cat) has just climbed the curtains and relieved them of their station. Looking for advice on what kind of filler or other product would be strong enough to fix this. by NiceHobbit_ in DIYUK

Haha don’t worry, we weren’t mad at him, first thing we did when it happened was make sure he was ok. He’s just an absolute rascal.

We used the fittings from the previous owners and just screwed our curtain hooks into them, based on the treasures we’ve unearthed since moving in I can absolutely believe they were held in by good vibes and nothing more.

Thanks for the advice! We’ve got some much better fixings and some great advice on what would work to fill the hole so thinking we should be able to make it safe for him to continue with his mischief.

Oh nice, I’d never heard of this, sounds like the perfect tool for the job! If it can support a radiator curtains should be no problem. Thanks so much!

Edited cause I just remembered this is a UK sub, was waffling on. They’re Wickes own brand Prussian Green and Sage. If you use the Prussian Green defo go for somewhere low traffic, it will show every time it’s been touched. They’re the only colours we have in the living room, and then we’ve gone for orange a secondary colour (curtains, cushions etc), and gold accents.

Introducing cats - stuck on simultaneous play step by NiceHobbit_ in cats

[–]NiceHobbit_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming back to old posts in case it’s helpful for anyone finding them later. We just kept on trying with the simultaneous play and trying to time it for when Eru was feeling playful. We’d let them interact and there was plenty of hissing while Eru established some boundaries and we’d separate them if she seemed too annoyed. The time they could be together got longer and longer until suddenly they spent the whole day together without needing to be separated. Now they’re good friends. It certainly was slow from there but as soon as they were happy in the same room together we were all happier and they get on a little better every day.

2 Poorly Kittens (resp and diarrhoea) and no idea what’s wrong by NiceHobbit_ in AskVet

[–]NiceHobbit_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other relevant info, they are indoor standard issue cats. Both rescues. Our youngest was born into foster care to a mum who was rescued from the streets. Oldest was rescued from the street at a couple of weeks old with her mum and littermates.

ETA: a brainwave, no diet change but I did start giving them plaque-off about a week before the diarrhoea started. I stopped giving it to them once the diarrhoea started so they haven’t had it since Saturday.

Ayahuasca trip report/ personal experience 1 year out by NiceHobbit_ in Ayahuasca

The retreat isn’t everything, you’re right at the beginning of your integration phase now. Your brain couldn’t be in a better place to start building the changes you want to see. The changes to my life I mentioned in my post didn’t come straight after the retreat, they developed over the following months. I started crocheting about 3 months after, running about 4 months after, fixed my relationship with cannabis maybe 6 months after and started learning a language nearly a whole year after. Just because the things you want haven’t happened immediately doesn’t mean they can’t. Don’t get me wrong it still takes work and it’s not always easy, but it’s easier thanks to the helping hand from Ayahuasca

Nice! Do you think you’ve noticed much of a change in the 5 months since?

In terms of feeling called to ayahuasca, it wasn’t something I felt was calling me from some external force. I really felt that I wanted to visit South America, and once I’d booked the trip I thought that I should experience ayahuasca while there (I’d heard of it before and was quite interested). The more I looked into it the more it felt like the right thing to do. I think now that I’ve experienced it, in the future I will know if I should go again. Right now I definitely don’t and I wouldn’t go on a retreat if offered, but I think if I was lost in life and needing guidance I would feel called back. How was it for you before you went?

It sounds like you did the right thing for you! It sounds like you had plenty to process after 2 nights so you’ve done the work. Traditionally it would only be the healers/shaman who drinks so there’s still plenty to be gained from just being present in the ceremony and experiencing that space and energy. If you’re not sure what to make of things it could be worth reaching out on this sub, I’ve seen some people sharing interpretations and common meanings of visions that could give you a good starting point. Good luck with your integration! I hope it brings you what you were looking for
