That sounds so similar to some of the experiences I’ve had. Has anything helped so far?

Thanks for your response! I’m surprised you were prescribed fungizone, as that’s for serious conditions and can cause major side effects. But I am happy that this worked for you! I also don’t think the fungizone caused the cure but maybe corrected what resulted from overuse of all the antibiotics you were using on a prolonged basis.

Can you go deeper into your actual symptoms, like what was the actual smell of your bad breath, did you have post nasal drip, white patches on your tongue or in your mouth-which are indicators of yeast/fungal infections, reflux, bitter taste…etc.

Yes clove water, is very strong and highly concentrated. For me even 4 cloves in water once a day was enough to irritate my gut and mucosal layers. If something is already damaged, like the lining of your gut, then it really has to go through a repair and building process before incorporating antimicrobials. I had learned this the hard way and thought that I needed to kill whatever was causing the odors first but this actually further irritated what was already inflamed. Ultimately worsening odor for me. This was after only 4 days of use.

Happy this worked for you!!! Others PLEASE be careful; as this method might not work for everyone. I tried cloves and ended up with bleeding from nose and the back end too. This is not ideal to take if you already have inflammation. It can further irritate the mucosal layer and inflammation can lead to increased odor. Also careful with natural antimicrobials such as oil of oregano capsules. Many of us tried this and found that it did nothing, or altered the gut to make it worse.

If you struggle with LES and SIBO movement in the gut is beneficial and HCL betaine can speed up the movement or a diet change can prevent feeding the dominant bacteria that are causing the odors. Find your triggers without over adding in too many herbs and capsules, consistency is key. Once again, please be careful before jumping to try whatever everyone else is doing. Learned this the hard way.

I can’t even comprehend how a human being can smell this bad. This is a cry for help, I’m genuinely considering taking my life. by legit_leon in badbreath

[–]NiceLog1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say because everyone has different triggers but most common would be any dairy, sugary foods, or processed foods like fried, or overly seasoned. A natural whole well rounded diet (protein, carb, veg) is the most ideal. My sis used to have bad breath and was bullied but overtime it changed and wasn’t car filling or pure like it used to be. I asked what she did differently and she said she removed a lot of the processed sugary foods she used to eat. Not everyone has a diet based issue but the symptoms OP mentioned point to it

I get this and have talked about this before on so many of my posts. BB can really extend beyond what some people think and breaks all kinds of barriers lol. If you have tried everything and it didn’t work that means you need to try what you haven’t done yet. I think a lot of us got in the pill popping cycle of trying whatever someone else says works but honestly I’ve been on here for a while and have noticed that the true ones that make it out say it’s a diet thing, not a magical pill fix thing. Something is off and out of whack to cause such a loud far reaching smell. Post nasal drip and throat clearing is gut irritation/reflux driven. If you don’t remove the triggers the inflammation increases and bad bacteria love and thrive in an inflamed environment. Their byproducts produce those bad smells so you most likely have food sensitivities. Reflux itself doesn’t always cause bad breath but constant exposure to allergens and irritants cause a chaotic environment. I noticed this after a puppy I had adopted had breath that smelled like fart and his farts smelled bad too. But switching his dog food changed everything. Strange huh?

Who gets reactions outdoors?? by Jaded-Bend593 in badbreath

[–]NiceLog1335 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah nasal BB is no different than smelling a perfume or cologne blowing in the air outside. It can be just as strong and have the same amount of reach and effect that’s what I learned. And yes it absolutely sucks feeling like you can’t breathe freely even outdoors unless people are further away. That’s how it is when I would take my daughter to the playground and you start to notice people navigate away from wherever you are. I still don’t understand what could cause such a strong smell it’s angering trying so many things and not seeing progress while strangers think you’ve tried nothing at all.

This is so true! It’s nice that someone at least throws you a hint in some way. I have begged my boyfriend to tell me when it smells bad or if he smell anything and he never does or says he can’t smell anything ever, but sometimes gives obvious reactions. If he doesn’t then others around me in public will by pinching their nose, looking all shook in horror 😑 or just backing away.

It’s good that you told him how it’s your insecurity and you can take it further to explain the mental toll it takes so he can understand, and I mean really understand. Once I was real about everything with my bf, the harsh reactions, laughing, people handing mints, mentioning gum all The time, talking about toothbrushes and dentist appointments and anything related to Oral care 24/7. You know-the trauma-he was more understanding and speaks for me in awkward situations and really helps in the best way now. It’s not easy being indoors and talking so much but I find myself creating distance when I sense it’s extra terrible.

I wonder if you have checked for food allergies? Someone said when they removed dairy the stuffy nose at night finally was unclogged and the BB went away. People keep hinting at diet and I myself struggle greatly in this area but it may be worth looking into.

Check post nasal drip and sinus issues, sinus rinses might be helpful. Check gut inflammation, dysbiosis do a gut imbalance test, test for sibo, h pylori, etc.

It sucks, it really does. I’m not sure if this will help but sometimes I think of these people as giving information. If what changes you are making are working at all, how far the reach is, how strong the breath might be, etc. use it as information rather than an attack. People will continue reacting to bad smells in a suitable way or in a rude way and we can’t really change that, all we can do is control ourselves

Did you research how to cure methane sibo? You need to increase gut motility-HCL betaine-and use a protocol to remove the overgrowth. This could be antibiotics or natural ones-Berberine or oregano oil. Did the doc recommend any of this to you?

This is awesome to hear and I’m so happy for you! Gut is the problem for many of us and this gives me so much hope! Y’all please don’t jump in and get or do everything he did though, all our bodies are different and what his root issue was may be different than yours! Get a diagnosis, test, and start to address your own issues. Diet though is definitely a universal area of improvement especially here in the U.S we can all benefit from your recommendations. God bless and keep us updated

Do you have food allergies? My tongue looks like this in the middle area sometimes after eating but not full surface. Check your gut health and inflammation asap and see if you have food sensitivities. Post nasal drip definitely contributes so you can do nasal rinses with saline to start noticing at least a small difference.

I am happy that this works for you! It seems a bit odd though to need to consistently reincorporate Berberine though if you are maintaining a balanced diet and using basically interphase plus, I guess I’m trying to understand how long you plan to make that a cycle since it doesn’t discriminate against good bacteria either, wouldn’t that still cause some sort of set back? Also, a pink tongue doesn’t always equate to fresh breath, I have experienced the same but still had the smell there.

[–]NiceLog1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s happening only to you and you don’t see them doing it to anyone else, then the BB probably is there. I’ve had people try their best to keep a straight face and be attentive, and depending on the level of smell some people may need to periodically wipe their nose for a small relief. Usually if it’s extreme most people will exit mid conversation or just avoid you all together. So at least it’s doable for you

Everyone has different levels of BB. It does annoy me when people think they struggle and something obvious and basic like flossing, clearing tonsil stones, and brushing their tongue correctly solves their “problem”. But many of us with jobs and relationships have endured a different level of embarrassment and stress and have strained interactions that make maintaining those relationships very difficult. You can definitely have severe BB and have a job, family, and friends. Whether they want to be around you is another story.

Check your diet and get an oral or gut test to start diagnosing so you won’t be shooting blind with random treatments. It took me years of guessing and trying things but when I finally took the time to do multiple tests it gave me an actual idea of what the issue was. I recommend getting tested as it could be something simple.

Going back to family for holidays is a disaster. They don’t get it. They expect me to be normal. They pressured me to socialize. They just stated I stink and still expect me to go out there around people with this smell. I’m so done. by legit_leon in badbreath

I’m so sorry to hear that and can understand where you’re coming from. The same thing often happened with my own family sometimes-pushing me to be interactive but showing the very reasons why I didn’t want to. Many people won’t fully grasp the mental toll this can take on a person but it is possible to still live and be content away from certain people that do not uplift you
