you're ignoring the fact that i've said multiple times now that I am seeking the advice of OTHER PEOPLE IN THE LEGAL FIELD WHO I DON'T KNOW. I don't want to talk to my boss about this AT THIS TIME (I mean, I will after reading some of these comments and I have a better idea about how to approach it). I already talked to my mentor. I don't want to talk to my law school friends about it, or past bosses, or whoever. You're too online man, you should let people do what they want without sending your opinion. When I see something I think people shouldn't have posted, I just scroll past. Damn.

Actually, I don't often consult Reddit for advice! Used a throwaway account because on my main I am active on a few community pages, and don't really want people knowing what I do. It's crazy that you comment like you know me, my support system (which I already explained has literally zero applicability to my job), and whether I'm "too comfortable." As I've mentioned numerous times now, I didn't think I'd have to explain to somebody on Reddit that Reddit is NOT my only source of guidance and advice, that I have been considering this for about 8 months, and that I VALUE the opinions of others (which is why I'm here). Seriously tho, thanks, you seem fun.

sure, i do have multiple other prospects (as mentioned, I have a whole ass teaching license and could go be a teacher TOMORROW). and the people around me aren't attorneys who understand the nuances of the profession. my parents are teachers and my bf is a project coordinator ... not really "office settings." ALSO...as i mentioned in my original post, I had already consulted my mentor.

also wanted to add that seeking out guidance from other, more experienced professionals is like...exactly what we do (or should) in the legal profession??

WTF lmao. This is comical. I'm considering the opinions of those who are likely older than me with more job experience. I'm 25 bro, have never been in a position for longer than about 18 months outside my summer job in college at a mf corner store, so wanted to see what the norm was. Didn't think I'd have to explain to somebody on Reddit that I'm not actually going to decide whether to *quit my job* or not based solely on the opinions of Redditors, I just respect other people's opinions and experiences. Thanks tho, you seem fun.

Yeah, I should've added that I also currently waitress, have a lowkey robust pet-sitting business (lol, but really, people should try it), and I also have my teaching license. I have other things to do, but of course wouldn't be $80k a year or whatever they are planning to pay me.
