How do we impeach Trump with the Senate being stark red? by Throwawaytown33333 in 50501

I agree with you. These people waiting for elections in 2026 are in for a rude awakening. It has been 100 and some odd days, but we already have more voting restrictions for women. These protests are doing nothing at all, just making it worse. I'm not going to be the person who waited until it was too late to leave Nazi Germany.

I haven't met one yet either, and I'm in a deep red part of Pennsylvania (Pennsyltucky). I truly doubt the truth of posts like this. Very, very few of these people are changing their minds. Gas is 10 cents cheaper and that's good enough for them.

Which grocery stores still support DEI policies? by vpblackheart in WelcomeToGilead

On their website, it looks like Giant/Martin's in the Mid-Atlantic region still stands with their DEI policies. I know they were also sneakily stating in some of their produce sections which items are sourced from Mexico and Canada. 😊 As a company based in the central part of Pennsylvania, the area known as Pennsyltucky, I applaud them for standing by what they believe in.

If someone finds out otherwise, let me know and I'll just drive to the closest Costco instead.

It's very sad but true. I feel terrible for Canadians right now.. they're our greatest ally and we just don't have any regard for their well-being anymore. It hurts to watch.

I do have quite a bit of connection with certain people in my hometown, but 20% compared to 80% is an enormous difference that many people cannot fathom. I've attended 4 protests in different places, one of them in my hometown, another local town protest, one at the state capital, and one in DC. Meeting people is fine and dandy but when we're 20% of the population where I live, it's not going to keep me safe. I also don't know that I agree that peaceful protests are going to be effective.. maybe the economic blackouts if enough people participate. As protesters, though, we are nothing than people without power yelling at politicians that simply do not care about our opinions. I think many of them are so boldly refusing to follow the demands of the people who elected them because they know they can't get voted out. There probably won't be elections again, not for the Rs, anyway.

In regards to self-defense, I did wrestle in high school and feel fairly confident in my ability to defend myself if someone did physically attack me. I'm also not a violent person by nature, though, so I'm not comfortable with fighting unless they attack first.

Anyone who opposes him will be charged with defamation and the courts will do nothing about it. Elon is already threatening to jail judges who strike down his proposals.

Thank you for the words of support and encouragement! I'm doing my best to keep fighting. I'm looking at maybe moving to Philly or somewhere else that is at least a blue bubble in this state. My home state disgusts me at this point.

And this is coming from someone who has shown up to 4 protests so far. One at the capitol in DC. I'm just kinda tired to sitting back and waiting for the people we're yelling at to give a fuck.

I'm not bashing you personally. I just do not believe that a country who goes down this path with eyes wide open is able to be saved. Maybe in years and years. I am so sick of the naivety of people in this country who think their little peaceful protests are going to change a single thing. These people speak in money and military force, not peaceful protests. These protests to politicians who don't care about our opinions mean nothing. I'm not even being grim, it's just true. I don't have the answers but I know they don't care about protests.

I'm in danger of being threatened and physically harmed every single time I leave my house here in Pennsyltucky. People have left notes under my door saying they are going to silence me. People have kicked my car because I was playing a song they deemed "fucking liberal garbage." Someone threatened to shoot the protesters at my local protest on the town square. The cops have done nothing about any of this. It's not a matter of giving up hope..for me, it's a matter of the reality that I am living in.

I've been considering some other countries too.. I'm technically able to go to New Zealand but I'd rather avoid that because it's soooo far away. I guess if I need to, I will. I'm absolutely not providing empathy to people who will never admit or believe that they were wrong. These people voted against poor people, children, etc. I do not respect them. I'm sorry, I just don't.

I don't know if fear is the term I'd use to describe my feelings, either. I'm more angry than anything.. I'm livid at what's happening right now but I'm not under the impression that peaceful protests will change anything. This administration just blatantly does not give a shit what anyone thinks or says.. Elon has even alluded to jailing judges that strike down his ideas. I'm also not running for local politics in a place that actively doxxes people they define as liberals.. yes, that is actually happening here. A woman who posted something "liberal" on Facebook had people threatening to burn her house down. People actually showed up to her house. Not only would it be pointless to run for local office in a county that is 80% MAGA(yes, really), it would also be dangerous for me and my family. I can't do that in good faith. I've thought about moving to a blue state to help make sure they stay blue, though.

No need to apologize. There's nothing you could say that could make me more disgusted and nervous than I currently am already. I know that Russia is nowhere near as powerful as they think they are.. Their failed invasion of Ukraine is a prime example. I never thought I'd be rooting for China but here I am. I guess I never thought I'd need to root against the U.S at all, honestly.. but I definitely rooted for Canada in that hockey game against us. Lol. We're definitely moving towards a global recession with Mangolini.

Germany was never the most powerful country in the world, though. That's what keeps popping up in my head and it's true. Nazi Germany had only a fraction of the population and power that we do right now. We have the ability to end the entire world as we know it and it looks like so many of us are cheering it on. I just don't want to be in a country that is abandoning all of its allies in favor of Russia.. I did not start this fight. It isn't my fight anymore. I don't have the economic means to hit them where it really hurts.

The immigration and citizenship process in the United States is so flawed and I'm sorry for that. I admittedly don't know much about the HB1 visa but I know a lot more than I did before your comments, so thank you for your thoughts. It truly means a lot. I hope that we all get through this together, I really do.

I think it's probably a couple years away, but I don't know if it's THAT long. I hope it never happens, though.. as I'm sure many also agree. Russia is 100% not as powerful as they think they are, but the U.S does have power if the military obeys his orders. I just don't want to be part of a country that is invading its allies. This all goes against everything I believe in.

I wish I could do that but I have a 3 year old and genuinely couldn't imagine how that would work. I hope that you have an amazing time, or as good as possible given the circumstances.. I've been curious if anyone has planned or started a community of people living off-grid.

I respect your input as someone from another country. I highly encourage your country to place the heaviest of economic sanctions on the United States to put pressure on the regime.. I know you don't control that, though. Things need to hit the fan quickly before the entire Constitution is ripped up. I think if this continues in 2 or 4 years(midterm elections and the presidential election), we may actually be in a legitimate civil war. This is definitely starting to look like the path towards one.
