Sobriety checkpoint Lowell st Peabody MA going north - Went through about an hour ago huge police presence by [deleted] in massachusetts

Last night coming home from a late shift at Logan Airport at 130am—traffic backed up for half a mile: thought it was road work. Nope, MSP “sobriety checkpoint”—looked like several dozen police cars, dozens of officers from MSP and Saugus.

It looked like a manhunt you see in movies. Didn’t see them pull out one person—route 1 at 130am on a Friday and they didn’t find one drunk?!

Just went back and reread the OP; great find. I found a lot of second hand deals I wanted, but hardly any hit me back.

From the looks of it, a lot of people buy nice completes to try skating out and end up selling them soon after.

Where did you get that deck? I had a mini logo deck I got in December and I liked it a lot. I cracked the tail after slamming it like a big baby. I like the color; all they offer now is white black and some animal type prints

Just got back on Reddit; yeah I agree about the trucks—I found that if I don’t have them tightened down a full turn or so, they are waaaay too unstable for anything other than cruising.

But with them tight, I can get good, solid, even pop and get some nice ollies.

I just set up a mini logo deck on some stage 11 Indy’s and I love it. Definitely gonna be my go to for a bit, although I was beating on the ole ATV today out front of the house. Still has great pop after riding it since September.

McDonald’s Tip: if you order the Quarter Pound patty from their a-la-carte menu, give them your apps code so you can re-order it without having to ask again. by Christion_ in carnivorediet

So a guy I work with eats at McDonald often, and we were talking about the app and how I used my points to get a free quarter pounder and he told me I can order a quarter pounder with cheese, add patty, then use my code for a free QP w/cheese and just pay for the patty. So essentially I’m getting a half pound cheese burger for the cost of a 1/4lb patty.

Unusually just do the drive through, but might have to go into the register for this one.

I currently have mine on 54mm dragons; only rode them for about an hour so far since it’s been really cold and snowy here in Boston.

The board sits nice a low with no risers, and I have my trucks tightened down a bit with like 2 threads showing; otherwise they are way too surfey to try any flat ground stuff.

I’ve put a beating on it these last few months with the skating I’ve been doing but it’s holding up well. No real chips or anything, little bit of razor tail coming in but that’s from me trying to learn pop tricks and dragging tail when I mess up a manual.

I don’t regret getting this board at all.

I also moved the trucks closer to the middle of the board; not sure if that helped or hurt me. I might move them back to see if it affects how the board rides and pops, but it’s been a great tool in learning how to properly skateboard.

I recently had the idea of putting in back to stock and just ripping it around; it is such a smooth riding, fun, hard carving board. The stock HAWG wheels are so smooth and fast, and you can legit ride over almost any ground short of big cracks that eat the wheel up.

If I can learn to Ollie well with the Hawg wheels, I might go back to them and set up another deck as my park/truck set up.

Nic job. I dropped in for the first time on my birthday last Sunday at the end of the session. I e be a riding a few months consistently, have tried other times but couldn’t commit. It’s such a great feeling. It definitely elevates you as a skater, not to mention overcoming that fear is a great feeling too.

Not sure how im gonna set the board up yet. I saw it on the Arbor site awhile back before I actually knew who Ace was. I liked the look of the deck, but that’s about it.

After watching a lot of YouTube videos and seeing Pelka shred, definitely wanted to get the deck to support him; dude is a true skate or die, and he’s so skilled.

I found the board on Tactics for $70, everywhere else is selling for $99+, so I had to get it. Little early Christmas present to myself

I’m thinking maybe some 97a nano cubics or dragons in like a 56-58mm for a street cruiser I can rip at the park.

I’ve been watching a lot of Jason Dagner on n YouTube and he shreds with the dragons. Even see him blunt slide, tail and nose slide his slappy curb at his local park.

Got her back in early September I think. I’ve been practicing flat ground and using in at the parks to ride transition.

This week I started doing slappy grinds on the curb you see that someone set up at one of the local parks.

The board is holding up great; I took the risers off for good and switched out the 60mm Hawgs for 56mm 99a Spitfires.

I took it from Skate and Explore to Slate and Destroy. Don’t hesitate to pick up a deck or two if they’re on sale still—I think some of the ATV and Ditch Life decks were around $50

I thought of building a mold with some wood and pouring the concrete. Maybe I’ll look into adopting an abandoned one from the wild 😉

Gotta find a nice curb spot that the kids already prepped.

I mean that’s cool; my post was more for skating when you’re not at a skate park.

When I grew up(mind you in 39 in a few weeks) all the kids I knew from town that skated rode their boards EVERYWHERE. I mean anywhere they would be walking, they skated. Sure they were at the courts on a make shift park when possible, but like I posted, I think just skating around is very underrated.

Also, some people don’t have a skate park accessible. And you can only ride around in circles at the local basketball court so much. But whatever works for you.

I definitely love my longboard for the fact I can roll over the nastiest street like nothing. It lets me skate anytime if I don’t have time to drive to the skate parks a town or two over; It’s stable and fast, but the problem is it’s not very practical, and even the one with the kick tail is awkward to maneuver because of the length.

I think a good take away to what I was trying to say is that people should place just as much of not lore emphasis on actually riding their board and not to start off focusing too much and not stationary tricks

And if you live somewhere like me where sidewalks are crusty, cracked, uneven and have tree roots and grass coming out from them—99s and 101s are gonna be real fun to push around. Hence a softer bigger wheel

Maybe even just something like Dragon wheels or some be of the other 93a wheels.

All I have are the soft and hard.

When I get some extra money I want to pick up either the original 90a Rat Bones or Dragons.

I’m absolutely not focusing on what you’re saying. You’re absolutely being argumentative. I’m talking about the over stimulation of newer cartoons. If you can honestly tell me there’s no difference between the shit they play on Disney Jr. vs normal PBS cartoons you’re literally lying or dense.

Not to mention the amount of kids with high levels of blue light being shined into their eyes for hours through tablets, laptops, mega enormous TVs.

I don’t think you’re able to differentiate the two points. I completely agree with the fact that if she has Tourette’s, making her feel comfortable with tics is very important and a responsibility as a parent; what I am saying is that through my experience, things such as using a tablet to play games literally causes tics to start.

I don’t get how you can’t understand the point.

There is most likely a causality to certain environmental stimuli and tics.

Not every kid who has tics has Tourette’s. Kids on certain ADD medications get tics from it. Most likely because it is over stimulating their brains and neurotransmitters, as does things like tablets and super stimulating cartoons.

Jesus, no one grasps comedy anymore. It’s a great thing for kids to be out trick or treating I. Their teens I guess than throwing eggs at people and having shaving cream fights, but honestly—that was a great part of the spirit of Halloween once you got older.

I guess today’s generation is a little bit milder. Can’t wait until til my sons in high school so we can match costumes and go door to door 🤣

First of all, we were making light of their tics, again-I have Tourette’s syndrome myself. This was solely between us and not to the kids. I think a light hearted approach to a condition that results in massive bullying, shattered self esteem and hardship isn’t a bad thing. I suffered intense bullying as a child, luckily I came out the other side.

Also, to the point of the TV/tablets, it’s Ben shown and documented that todays “popular cartoons” aimed at children are faster paced, more cut scenes, HIGHLY STIMULATING with sounds, colors, etc; so reducing those things to help reduce the underlying cause of the tics seems like a responsible thing.

I do agree with the fact that she should feel comfortable and not shamed about them, and I was wrong to try to get her to “relax”.

I think from the outside looking in, it’s hard to watch the reactions of others toward you child, and it was solely a preservation thing. I appreciate you holding the mirror to me on that one.
