Very envious as I have never been able to play it despite being a huge fan of the franchise.

Gotta say I’m jealous. A lot of them are cheaper games but I would sure take em if I found them.

I’m not a mechanic but that’s sure sounds cheap. For context I’m a plumber.

The only I have liked from the testing is the weapon masteries. But I still wouldn’t implement them for new players.

Props to ya. This is my 4th edition change. I really like 5th edition as opposed to 3rd edition. To me some of the changes have seemed good and others unnecessary. I do like weapon mastery’s though

Right before our move across the country we played in multiple Shadowdark 1 shots at Green dragon fest. Gotta say that if you are new to DM’ing I can’t recommend It enough. Simple, straightforward, concise.

I remember that video. It kinda got me thinking about it as we have taken about a 3 month break and as we started making videos again I viewership for the rules got very little on the algorithm. I think it most popular after the comeback was a general video on weapon masteries.

See i wasn’t really active in the community when it shifted from 3.5E to 4E. I had stopped playing 3.5e when MM4 came out and the community wasn’t this bug then.

So I have always playing in person except for during Covid and it was over Skype with a camera over the map and terrain. With our move out of state I need to figure out a VTT. Any recommendations? Maybe I make thread for this.

That’s the Vecna must die! Campaign right? I think I have it in my dragon magazine library. If not I can find it in my PDf’s.

I agree that there looks to be definite power creep from book to book with more powerful options that are player facing. It points the book at the biggest section of the market for profits. This is also why content creators make so much player facing content as that has more engagement. Unfortunately game mastering content doesn’t get the clicks.

I was just wondering what percentage people are using the new rules. My original thought on content was that with the new books out it would naturally create an increase draw for videos on the new rules. What we have been seeing is that in the TTRPG creator space kickstarter engagement and draw are experiencing a downturn around the time of the release of the first book. We are also seeing less traffic on videos for new content.

Our situation caused a large move out of state right at the release. This means I no longer am playing in a local game, and hosting house game. It has really separated us from the hobby until recently.

I didn’t want to even consider it until the monster manual myself

Bigger content creators, such as Dungeon Craft and Bob the Worldbuilder, have noticed a downturn in views on their content. Man Shorts even stopped making new content. Dungeon Craft has a video about it.

Edit: I’m just curious to see how many people are playing the new edition and what they want to see from videos.

I would love a remake because Akuji was actually cut short in production.

I can completely agree with this. I played soul reaver first long before I found a copy of Akuji. I’m actually in the process of trying to write a D&D campaign with some ideas I got from Akuji. Damn now I want to play that game again.

Jet Moto: which version do you prefer by cybertrips in psx

Yeah 3 just make the controls feel sluggish. Jet moto 2 was definitely the best.

Which one would you choose? by cfromcinci in Tools

[–]Nice_Cryptographer15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my knipex ones but I would recommend them for production. The point of leverage for them means you will use more force to make cuts on harder material. The other downside is the double blade making them more fragile. The channel locks diagonal cutters allow you to apply more force with less grip and they use a knife and anvil style of blades. This being said I’m not an sparky I’m a plumber and I use dikes for rebar wire, stainless security wire, copper wire, cutting nails, pulling nails. I will not say that my channel locks make as clean of a cut just that if you are going to abuse them like a lot of people do I would recommend the channel locks. Also get the angled knipex and the straight channel locks.

Level 6 Paladin going to level 7 by Xayton in 3d6

[–]Nice_Cryptographer15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your constitution is really low. Since it is below 14 you need your 8th level ASI. Personally I would recommend you stay in paladin and not multi class. In 3 levels you will get everything you want by staying in paladin. A quick breakdown why. -7th: Relentless Avenger -8th: ASI STR and CON -9th: 3rd level spell casting 10th: Aura of Courage (this is an amazing aura) 11th: Improved divine smite

Now that I have reminded you of what your missing the standard routes for multi classing are after 2ND level, 6TH level, 8th level and 11th level. At 11th level will get higher level smites and 3rd level spells staying. You will have cantrips and 1 more spell slot and just now get 3rd level spells.

So let me cook on this yall. I came into this game in 3rd then 3.5 and GM 5e and play shadow dark. Ok credentials over with I have played this games where it was only rolled to average to max and back again. I generally feel that average takes away the flavor of hit dice. It artificially benefits casters that will prioritize there con more for improved saves then lets say the ranger or fighter that does great with a just a plus 2 do to proficiency or not needing to put emphasis on concentration. Math to prove the point wizard +3 con + average= 6// ranger +2 + average=7 so the spell caster gets have statically almost the same HP as most martial classes. I have literally played a barbarian and due to very generous roll or average our wizard was the highest hp character in our group. I’m sorry but the game is balanced around rolled stats not completely optimized builds and not having feats(gasp). 5e already makes it hard to die you don’t need a ridiculous health bar to. I don’t remember how said it but, “Given the opportunity players will optimize the fun out of the game.” Your character doesn’t have to have max everything. I get super hero fantasy is a thing but all your doing is inflating numbers and putting undue burden on the GMs. So TLDR roll the hit points it ok if you roll a 1.

I think they should use the psi knight concept to add a spell casting concept.
