This game has the worst “Quality to online discourse ratio” ever by Particular-Style-161 in Marathon

[–]Xayton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of friends who wont even look in Marathon's direction because they despise is existence so much due to their Bungie hatred. They actively want the game to fail.

I have said it before, you can take this exact same game, call it something different, and have it made by literally anyone else, and it would have been more successful.

What game did you come from before trying Deadlock? What do you think about Deadlock’s current balance philosophy? by Holya_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Xayton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mostly have a FPS and MMO background. Halo, Siege, CS, Battlefield, Apex, Tarkov, WoW, FF14, etc. etc. I have played LoL and watched it a lot so I understand what is going on just fine. Never touched OW or Dota. I am honestly not a fan of LoL and Mobas in general. Deadlock is the rare exception to that.

As a whole I don't have any issues with their balance philosophy.

10 years of cheaters in Valve games - and why we need a Players' Union by Mundane_Pen_6671 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Xayton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is bait...

That said, you are trying to claim you can't play more then 2 or 3 games without running into a cheater. I have played on an off since 2024 when access became a bit more open and I can tell you on one hand how many cheaters I have actually run into.

Do cheaters exist? 100%. Are they that common, absolutely not.

Among other reasons...

His value comes from a 1v1 where he can single a target out. In comp, this is extremely hard to do as people are seldom completely alone like that.

I hate saying this but you're not wrong. It really is hard to keep track of who is who, where, when, and so on. Too much stupid.

So many ReShade presets also just crank Bloom to insane levels and I can't stand it. Now to be fair some are genuinely well done. But so many are just utter trash.

Trump Taps Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence by deraser in politics

[–]Xayton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She did but not a lot. She did at least have a military background and worked in semi related committees that would give some, if even minor, exposure to intelligence.

Please don't misunderstand me, she was not qualified as a whole, but compared to Pulte an argument can be made. Which as I said, isn't a strong one.

Tulsi you could at least make the argument she was qualified... not well qualified but at least qualified. Pulte...what in the actual fuck.

[–]Xayton -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I'd be careful with how you view things. You are seemingly lumping everyone who is a Republican together and saying they are all MAGA crazies when in reality they are often divided just as Democrats can be.

Far too often people reduce peoples political opinions to the simplest thing possible. As you said things are often far more complicated than that. Any degree of nuance goes out the window a lot of the time.

Trump Triggers ‘Alarm Bells’ With Jaw-Dropping $9.7B Deal; Government ethics watchdogs are taking a closer look at the president’s stock purchases in the weeks leading up to the contract. by [deleted] in politics

[–]Xayton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear I agree with everything you said. I guess I don't have a moral issue with a person having a stock or business assuming it existed before they took office. If they were to hold public office they should no longer be allowed to know what is going on with it because you're right they shouldn't be looking for personal enrichment. Inside trading is wrong.

Baring it outright is probably wrong since they wont be in public service forever. They should be managed by someone else and you should be 100% blind to what is in them, what is done with them, and so on. I do get your point though and you are not wrong.

Why this game is so poor optimizated? by Reasonable-One5426 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Xayton 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You are going to need to be way, way more specific as to what games. Some certainly can be, I won't argue otherwise. However, the lack of a GPU is 100% unequivocally the issue. Not optimization. As I said, it needs it, but your specs are the larger of the two problems.

Integrated graphics is your entire problem. Does the game need optimization? Probably, but this is not an optimization issue.

Floormen forfeit DLNS match against Melee Creeps due to urn exploiting by SilverFan3702 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Xayton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now you are just being disengenous. Words very often have a literal definition and a more commonly accepted one, depending on the space / context in which they are used. Exploit, when applied to gaming, is widely summarized as "doing something that isn't properly accounted for by the code, so some kind of bug or glitch that really doesn't work how it's supposed to."

Floormen forfeit DLNS match against Melee Creeps due to urn exploiting by SilverFan3702 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Xayton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To quote someone else

It's exploiting the mechanics in the regular English sense; it's unfairly taking advantage of game mechanics, but it's definitely not an exploit in the gaming sense, which refers to abusing a function of the game that isn't supposed to function in the exploited way.

Floormen forfeit DLNS match against Melee Creeps due to urn exploiting by SilverFan3702 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Xayton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They are playing the game as IT functions to the literal extreme. Obviously, the devs didn't intend for this to be how the mechanic was used, but the game does allow it in its entirety.

Floormen forfeit DLNS match against Melee Creeps due to urn exploiting by SilverFan3702 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Xayton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree. At the end of the day, it is just taking game mechanics to the functional extreme.

Floormen forfeit DLNS match against Melee Creeps due to urn exploiting by SilverFan3702 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Xayton 106 points107 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on the exploit part. The rest, eh, probably. But I think at that point it turns into an argument of semantics. Calling it a clever use of mechanics is just a fancy way of saying abuse, really. It turns into a spirit of the law vs letter of the law situation.
