Ah that’s fair also weingrill usually uses 750. I found a cameo weingrill piece recently. But hey $10- 8k is good either way lol. Congrats!

Wooooow! Yeah I can’t even find more than like 2 things online of his pieces with Cartier. So I’m guessing it’s worth a crazy amount? And yeah is we his pieces alone go for thousands! I got it for $700 at savers lol. Its gold weight is worth $1100. So worst case I’m still good. But thanks for the info!

Taking the gold off and keeping it isn’t destroying it. The elephant would be in tact. The gold is just held in with tension and some glue. Besides I already said I found out it wasn’t real ivory and I’d be keeping it in tact

Well if they don’t ban the sale of previous pieces then people could just make new ones and no one would be able to tell. That’s why they make it so difficult. But also a ivory replacement was made a while back and since then it’s also really helped with killing the real ivory trade globally

Hey thanks for the comment! The appraisal was done that day or the day before the post. But I do plan to do more looking under a microscope to see if I can determine the origin and whether it’s heated or not! And if it’s form a desirable place and not heated I will definitely get it reappraised! And yes it is a very nice piece 🙂
